About the Role:
Aquila Technology is seeking a Systems Administrator to join our team in supporting one of the country's premier defense research organizations. This role will be to help support the IT demands of the team including working directly with the team members to solve problems, maintaining the teams IT infrastructure including some classified systems, and supporting a variety of programs that are not supported by the central IT organization. This position is a combination of Linux Systems Administration and Windows Systems Administration. The role will be approximately 65% Linux and 35% Windows. Candidates should have significant Linux experience. This role needs a well rounded Systems Administrator.

The individual will be part of a team who provide installation, configuration, maintenance, repair, and upgrades of computer workstations, servers, and network infrastructure. The individual will also manage and maintain the Group's stock of computer/IT supplies and spares. The individual will also be responsible for providing direct-end user support in a mixed OS environment which includes imaging, software installs, printer maintenance and general troubleshooting. The individual's responsibilities include off-loading and expediting the Group's support requests from the Information Services helpdesk. The individual will also be responsible for complying with the security policies set forth by the Information Security Services Department.

Buy Your Own Device (BYOD) -Team members are eligible for reimbursement of up to $1,500 every three (3) years for the purchase of electronic equipment used to access corporate services. To qualify for this benefit, employees must have completed a minimum of six (6) months of employment and must agree to and sign the Device Minimum Configuration Form prior to reimbursement. - Degree Level: Bachelor's Degree
- 5 years - Desktop and Server Support (installation, patching, auditing, configuration, security, AD, etc.)
- 5 years - Operating System (OS) platforms (Linux, Mac, Windows)
- 5 years - Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain desktop and server-grade hardware
- 5 years - Networking Applications and Protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, NTP, DHCP, SSH, FTP and HTTP/S.
- 5 years - Powershell and Ansible (or other programming languages)
- 5 years - Scripting Languages: Perl, Python, Shell Scripting, Powershell.
- 5 years - Diagnose and Troubleshoot Issues

- Support additional technologies as they are adopted by the Laboratory.
- Responsible for vulnerability remediation on secure and unclassified Laboratory systems. Addressing Cat 1, 2, 3 issues in a timely manner
- Recognizing and troubleshooting issues with developer's machines as they occur across a variety of Operating Systems. Windows, Linux, Solaris, etc.
- Perform all related duties as assigned.
