Painter B - DEPOT

Amentum is seeking a Painter to support the Space Force Range contract.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform corrosion control on facilities, towers, tanks, miscellaneous sub-systems and critical support equipment using a variety of coating systems and paints
• Remove fixtures, electric switchover, etc. for preparation of an exterior remodel
• Perform as painter for various construction projects, both interior and exterior
• Climb towers and perform rescue climbing, volunteer basis (additional bonus)
• Work with Engineer (NACE qualified) to mix specific paints per standard
• Maintain corrosion control equipment
• Apply coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to exterior and interior surfaces, trimmings, fixtures of building and other structures
• Must be able to interface with all levels of personnel in a multi-cultural team-oriented environment

Minimum Requirements:

• High school or equivalent
• Minimum of four (4) years industrial/residential painting experience.
• Thorough knowledge and experience of various surface preparation techniques and coating systems applications
• Knowledge of personal protective equipment such as fall protection gear, respirator use, and hazards associated with operations including but not limited to the various urethanes, paints and removal of lead-based paints
• Ability to operate a variety of power equipment and tools (i.e. pressure washer, large air compressor, abrasive blasting systems, hand-held power-tools, needle guns, conventional and airless paint spray systems)
• Ability to climb and work on elevated antenna structures, platforms and towers up to 300 feet with proper safety equipment
• Ability to perform light to heavy lifting and may include occasional heavy lifting up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods of time
• Ability to use organic and inorganic zinc, epoxy, acrylic latex and urethane
• The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
• Salary determined by Collective Bargaining Agreement
• Valid U.S. Driver's License
• Ability to obtain Valid U.S. Passport required
• Ability to travel 30-40% to include occasional travel outside the continental U.S. (OCONUS)
