Position Title: DoD SkillBridge Internship - Electrical Engineering (Space Hardware Development)
Location: Webster / Houston, Texas
Relocation Assistance: Not available for internship positions
Remote/Telework: Onsite/ Hybrid 4 days on site
Clearance Required: Must be a U.S. Citizen, Must be Actively Serving Military Servicemember
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, standard duty hours

This internship is available only to currently serving Active-Duty U.S. military members who are approved or eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program.
Applicants must:
• Be within 365-180 days of separation or retirement
• Obtain command approval prior to internship start
• Meet all DoD SkillBridge participation requirements
This opportunity is not open to civilians, students, or veterans who have already separated from service.

Aegis Aerospace, Inc. is seeking a transitioning service member with education or technical experience in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Embedded Systems to participate in a DoD SkillBridge internship supporting aerospace hardware development in Webster, Texas.
- This internship will support engineering activities related to electrical board builds, communication protocol testing, and simulator or test environment development used in aerospace and spaceflight hardware systems.
- The selected intern will gain exposure to electrical hardware integration, embedded communication systems, and laboratory testing environments used in high-reliability aerospace applications.
- This internship is intended for service members who already possess foundational electronics or electrical engineering experience and want to transition into a civilian engineering role supporting aerospace technology development.
- This is not a full retraining opportunity. Candidates must demonstrate prior exposure to electronics, electrical systems, or embedded hardware development.
Description of Duties:
The selected intern will work alongside Aegis Aerospace engineering professionals supporting hardware development and testing activities.
The intern will:
- Assist engineers with electrical board builds and hardware assembly activities
- Support integration and testing of circuit boards and electronic hardware components
- Assist with development and troubleshooting of serial communication interfaces
- Gain exposure to common serial protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, and related interfaces
- Assist with hardware bench testing using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers
- Support development of hardware test setups or simulator environments used for engineering verification
- Assist with troubleshooting of communication or hardware interface issues
- Participate in documentation of hardware builds, test results, and engineering procedures
- Observe and support engineering test activities associated with aerospace hardware systems
- Collaborate with engineering staff supporting electrical, systems, and software integration
- Perform other duties as assigned to support engineering development and testing activities
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a current active-duty U.S. service member eligible for DoD SkillBridge participation
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must demonstrate prior education or technical experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronics Engineering Technology
- Embedded systems or microcontroller development
- Avionics or electronic systems maintenance
- Basic understanding of electrical circuits and electronic components
- Familiarity with electronic test equipment and troubleshooting techniques
- Ability to follow technical procedures and engineering documentation
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a laboratory or engineering environment
Desired Qualifications:
- Military MOS/AFSC/Rate related to avionics, electronics maintenance, or electrical systems
- Experience assembling or troubleshooting circuit boards or electronic hardware
- Familiarity with serial communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, or RS-232
- Exposure to embedded systems or microcontroller development
- Experience with hardware test environments or simulation tools
- Interest in pursuing a civilian engineering career in aerospace, electronics, or embedded systems
