Job Title: Senior Systems Administrator

Job Responsibilities
Trace Systems is actively recruiting for a cleared Senior Systems Administrator to support the Outside Continental United States (OCONUS).
- Hardware
- With guidance perform racking and mounting network, storage, compute devices.
- Perform touch labor for datacenter assets. Rack servers, run cables, replace hard drives, etc.
- With guidance and remote assistance perform initial installation of hardware, software, or virtualization components.
- Receive, inventory, and track hardware equipment. Maintain 100% accountability for hardware disposition.
- Software
- Responsible for the day-to-day monitoring and support of common Microsoft Services: Services could include Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint, SQL, Chat, and other similar tools.
- Monitoring
- Maintain situational awareness of all systems and services
- Relay to Engineering staff any events or activities that could impact customer access to the system
- Discover, log, troubleshoot, and escalate problems and anomalies
- Perform Daily checks of system software and hardware using in house tools and procedures.
- Operate as local Watch Officer
- Monitor Solar Winds dashboards for server availability.
- Monitor hardware, software, and system for events or system anomalies using manual checks or systems like Solarwinds, Splunk, or other toolsets.
- Routine
- Performing routine audits of systems and software.
- Document system performance and health checks; provide routine reports about system performance to Tier III Engineers.
- Work with ticket queue to track support issues.
- Occasional
- Install, maintain and monitor equipment, which may include network and server infrastructure, application systems and database systems
- Participate in disaster recovery tests and planning
- Ensure data center and rack equipment maintains appropriate standards
- Support operations of multi-site (geographically separated) virtualized network
- Conduct maintenance actions during off peak hours for systems or services
- Respond to occasional after hours' escalations
- Coordination and escort of vendors to perform hardware replacement or onsite access.
- Identify and initiate continuous improvements.
- Willing and available for on-call support outside of normal duty hours
- Additional duties as required
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires an active, in-scope US Government issued Top Secret clearance.
- Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US Citizenship is required.
- Minimum of at least 10 years relevant work experience.
- DoD 8750 certification at IAT level II (e.g.Security+ CE).
- Must possess an Operating System (OS)/Application Certification. Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA), or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) certification.
Desired Qualification
- Strong understanding of solutions such as server virtualization, high-availability clustering, and system design.
- Strong experience with MS Windows Server (2008 R2, 2012R2) environments and be able to build, configure, and maintain OR Strong experience with maintaining WAN, BAN, and or LANs using leading industry technologies.
- Strong understanding of VPNs, WANS, encryption devices, and other common network equipment in use on DOD networks.
- VMware VCP.
- CISCO CCNA / CCNP.
- Microsoft MCSA/MCSE.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other similar level of professional experience.
