DevSecOps Engineer

About the Role
We are seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to support a large-scale DoD program focused on building, securing, and operating cloud-based application delivery platforms. In this role, you will help modernize CI/CD pipelines, migrate DevSecOps tooling from IL‑5 to IL‑6 environments, and improve automation across a secure Application Factory.

What You’ll Do
DevSecOps & Cloud Engineering
• Migrate existing IL‑5 DevSecOps pipelines into development VPCs and transition tools and pipelines into IL‑6 environments.
• Analyze DevSecOps tools for IL‑6 compliance and recommend replacements or enhancements where needed.
• Design and implement secure, automated CI/CD pipelines aligned with the DoD DevSecOps Fundamentals Guidebook (v2.1).
• Present technical designs and tool analyses to internal and external Architecture Review Boards.
• Support daily operations, including continuous monitoring, patching, and sustainment in classified environments.
Automation & Application Factory Support
• Help design and develop a standalone Application Factory portal that centralizes access to:
○ CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab)
○ Collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)
○ DevSecOps documentation and knowledge resources
○ Automated notifications and workflow integrations
• Improve operational efficiency through automation and standardized workflows.
Collaboration & Delivery
• Work closely with software developers, security teams, and operations staff to streamline delivery.
• Enable smooth, secure releases across development, test, staging, and production environments.
• Apply Agile, DevOps, and DevSecOps best practices to improve speed, quality, and reliability.
Required Qualifications
• Active Secret clearance (Top Secret preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in DevSecOps, DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or related roles.
• Experience working in DoD cloud environments (IL‑4/IL‑5/IL‑6).
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with DoD security practices, RMF, ATO sustainment, and ConMon.
• Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working in highly regulated environments.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting command-and-control or mission systems.
• Prior experience briefing architectures to governance or review boards.
• Cloud or security certifications (AWS, Security+, CISSP, etc.).
• Experience automating pipeline security (SAST/DAST, container scanning).
