Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support our client in Arlington, VA. The Senior Network Engineer will deliver Tier III engineering, troubleshooting, and integration support for complex DoD network environments. This role focuses heavily on Cisco networking, routing, switching, and secure enterprise connectivity while serving as a technical liaison communicating mission requirements between government leadership and internal teams.
Responsibilities of the Senior Network Engineer include:
· Perform advanced installation, integration, and maintenance of enterprise IT and network systems
· Design, engineer, and oversee upgrades to network infrastructure and services
· Conduct Tier III troubleshooting and performance optimization of IP, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols, and related technologies
· Implement and support IPv6, EIGRP, BGP, VLANs, VPNs, and NAT configurations
· Collaborate with Cyber Security Specialists to ensure secure architectures and compliant deployments
· Sustain ongoing enterprise, regional, and local network operations and lead recovery efforts when required
· Interface directly with government stakeholders to translate mission requirements into actionable tasks for technical teams
Qualifications for the Senior Network Engineer include:
· 10+ years of IT experience with a strong emphasis on enterprise networking
· Hands - on experience with Cisco routing, switching, and network engineering
· Active DoD IAT Level III certification (e.g., CASP+, CISSP, CCNP Security, etc.)
· Active CCNA certification
· Active Top Secret clearance
· Proven ability to work directly with Marines and government leadership; strong client - facing communication and resilience
Compensation for the Senior Network Engineer includes:
· Salary Range: $90,000-$100,000 depending on experience
