Koniag IT Systems, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an AI/RPA SME- Mobile Training Team 1 with a TS/SCI security clearance to support KITS and our government customer at Langley Air Force Base, VA.

The AI/RPA Technical Subject Matter Expert serves as part of Mobile Training Team 1 (MTT 2), Regional Cluster B: Approximately 10-12 wing visits annually covering Western CONUS and OCONUS locations (Davis-Monthan, Nellis, Mountain Home, Kadena, and proximate wings), delivering wing-level technical instruction, live demonstrations, and proof-of-concept automation builds across Air Combat Command's CONUS and OCONUS installations. Deploy on multi-week regional rotations as a two-person team with a Change Management Specialist, providing the technical depth that makes AI and RPA adoption real for operational Airmen.

This is not a briefing role. Run live RPA demonstrations using actual wing data, build proof-of-concept automations in 2-3 days that address unit-specific workflows, conduct hands-on Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT) labs, and capture use-case requirements that feed the JBLE-based prototype development queue. Bridge between operational mission needs and technical AI/RPA solutions.

Essential Job Functions:

Wing-Level Technical Delivery:
  • Deploy to ACC wings on multi-week regional rotation schedules as part of MTT 2 (Western CONUS/OCONUS ACC Wing locations (Davis-Monthan, Nellis, Mountain Home, Kadena, and proximate wings)
  • Deliver advanced technical instruction on AI/ML and RPA platforms including AskSage, UiPath, Microsoft Power Automate, and other DoD-approved tools:
  • Conduct hands-on VILT labs where Regional Cluster B Airmen build simple automations, test AI queries, and practice responsible AI workflows
  • Provide Tier 3 technical training for Regional Cluster B personnel integrating AI/RPA into specific mission functions (intelligence analysis, mission planning, logistics coordination)
  • Answer complex technical questions about platform capabilities, integration patterns, and security compliance in real time

Live Tool Builds & Proof-of-Concept Demonstrations:
  • Run live RPA demonstrations during Regional Cluster B wing visits using actual unit workflows and operational data (appropriately sanitized/approved)
  • Build proof-of-concept automations on-site within 2-3 days addressing unit-specific pain points identified during discovery sessions
  • Demonstrate AI query techniques, prompt engineering, and output validation using mission-relevant examples
  • Show Airmen what "good" looks like-working bots and AI workflows they can immediately understand and envision using themselves

Use-Case Capture & Requirements Generation:
  • Conduct workflow discovery interviews with Regional Cluster B wing personnel to identify automation opportunities
  • Document Regional Cluster B unit-specific use cases using structured intake criteria: process inputs, decision points, data sources, classification level, manual workload burden, integration requirements
  • Score opportunities by automation potential and mission impact to prioritize prototype development
  • Generate technical requirements packages that feed the JBLE-based AI/RPA Solutions Architects and RPA Developers
  • Ensure the prototypedevelopment pipeline receives continuous use-case intake from every wing visit

Classified Environment Support:
  • Conduct technical instruction and workflow discovery in SIPRNet and AFSCI environments at Regional Cluster B ISR Wings
  • Build proof-of-concept automations within classified networks using approved platforms and data handling procedures
  • Advise on classification-appropriate AI/RPA integration patterns and security compliance requirements
  • Coordinate with JBLE-based Senior AI/Data SMEs (TS/SCI) on classified solution transition planning

Collaboration with Change Management Specialist:
  • Deploy as a two-person team with MTT 2's Change Management Specialist on every wing visit
  • Coordinate technical demonstrations with adoption workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions
  • Translate technical capabilities into mission-relevant value propositions for non-technical audiences
  • Support solution-a-thons and ideation events by providing technical feasibility assessments in real time

Working Condition:

Location and Environment:

Primary Work Location:
  • Joint Base Langley-Eustis (JBLE), Virginia

Classified Facilities:
  • Regular work in Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) and secure spaces

Workspace:
  • Government-provided office space in secure facility; access to NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and collaboration tools

Classified Work:
  • Regular access to classified environments (SIPRNet, AFSCI) required for coordination and stakeholder engagement

Travel & Schedule Expectations:
  • 50-60% travel on multi-week regional rotation schedules
  • Rotations typically cover 2-4 wings per trip clustered geographically (5 working days per wing plus travel days)
  • Example rotation: 3 weeks covering Davis-Monthan AFB, Nellis AFB, and Mountain Home AFB
  • OCONUS rotations Kadena, RAF Lakenheath) scheduled 1-2 times annually with extended duration
  • 5-7 days between rotations for debrief, material updates, and JBLE-based VILT support
  • Schedule coordinated 21+ days in advance with wing POCs and COR to deconflict with operational tempos

Between rotations:
  • Deliver Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT) sessions from home base or JBLE
  • Update technical training materials and lab exercises based on lessons learned
  • Coordinate with JBLE-based Solutions Architects on use-case handoffs from wing visits
  • Contribute to the enterprise solution catalog and technical documentation repository

Physical Demands:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer workstation
  • Visual acuity for detailed technical work and data analysis
  • Manual dexterity for typing, coding, and operating computer equipment

Schedule and Availability:

Core Hours:
  • 0800-1700 EST, Monday-Friday), with occasional extended hours to meet mission deadlines or support operational events

Flexibility:
  • Occasional early morning or evening meetings to accommodate wing schedules across time zones

Surge Periods:
  • Increased hours during major milestones, events, or exercises (with advance notice)

On-Call:
  • Not required, but responsiveness to urgent issues expected (email/phone within 4 hours during duty hours)

Telework:
  • No telework eligibility for unclassified administrative tasks; all classified work must be performed on-site in approved facilities


Security Environment:
  • Work with classified information up to Top Secret/SCI level
  • Compliance with OPSEC, CUI handling, and classification protocols
  • Subject to security inspections, audits, and continuous evaluation
  • Adherence to base access, badge, and facility security requirements

Minimum Qualifications, Certifications, and Platform Credentials:

Required Qualifications:

Security Clearance:
  • Minimum Secret clearance at project start - required
  • Active TS/SCI clearance that is current and in-scope required for ISR Wing Visits (no interim acceptable) or classified environment assignment:
  • ISR Wing rotations will not be scheduled until TS/SCI is confirmed
  • Non-ISR Wing rotations may proceed with Secret clearance while TS/SCI adjudicates
  • Must be eligible for AFSCI access

Experience:
  • 4+ years of hands-on AI/ML and RPA solution development and delivery in DoD environments
  • Proven track record building and deploying operational AI/RPA solutions, not just conducting research or writing papers
  • Experience delivering technical training, demonstrations, or hands-on labs to military or federal civilian audiences
  • Familiarity with Air Force or DoD operational workflows (intelligence, mission planning, logistics, or similar mission sets)

Certifications (Required):
  • UiPath Certified RPA Associate OR Microsoft Power Automate certification - Required (at least one; both preferred)
  • CompTIA Security+ (DoD 8140.03 baseline) - Required
  • Hands-on VILT and lab delivery experience - Required (must provide examples)

Certifications (Preferred):
  • Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900)
  • AI Engineer certification or equivalent
  • UiPath Advanced RPA Developer
  • Microsoft Power Platform Developer Associate

Technical Competencies:
  • Expert-level proficiency with UiPath Studio and Microsoft Power Automate (desktop and cloud flows)
  • Strong understanding of AI/ML platforms approved for DoD use (AskSage, Advana, GenAI.mil, or equivalent)
  • Experience with prompt engineering, output validation, and responsible AI practices
  • Knowledge of API integration, database connectivity, and data transformation for automation workflows
  • Familiarity with NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and AFSCI network environments and associated security protocols
  • Ability to build working prototypes rapidly (2-3 days) with limited infrastructure and unfamiliar data sources

Performance Expectations:

Measured against technical delivery outcomes:
  • 100% wing visit coverage for all assigned Cluster B wings within the annual schedule
  • Live demonstration delivery at every wing visit showing mission-relevant AI/RPA capabilities
  • Proof-of-concept automation builds at minimum 50% of wing visits (1-2 working prototypes per visit)
  • Use-case capture and requirements generation feeding the JBLE prototype pipeline with at least 2-3 documented opportunities per wing visit
  • Hands-on VILT lab delivery with participant completion rates exceeding 85%
  • Technical depth support ensuring no wing visit ends with unresolved technical questions requiring post-visit follow-up

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting Air Force ISR Wings, intelligence squadrons, or combat operations centers
  • Background in intelligence analysis, mission planning, or operational workflows that AI/RPA can enhance
  • Previous work with Advana, AskSage, or other DoD AI platforms
  • Experience conducting workflow discovery and requirements elicitation in operational military environments
  • Familiarity with GIDE (Global Information Dominance Experiments) or similar multi-domain integration efforts
  • Understanding of DoD data governance, accreditation processes, and security compliance for AI/RPA deployments
  • Teaching, training, or instructional design background
