Position Title: Data Analyst
Status: Permanent/Full-Time

The ideal candidate for this position will have experience supporting a critical data migration project. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing, mapping, and validating data as it is migrated from our on-premise SQL Server databases to the data and analytics platform. This role is ideal for a hands-on analyst with strong T-SQL skills, data mapping expertise, and a passion for creating insightful dashboards.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Analyze and profile source data in SQL Server to understand data structures, quality, and business rules.
• Write complex T-SQL queries to extract, transform, and validate data from SQL Server databases.
• Create and maintain detailed data mapping documentation, specifying how data from the source will be transformed and loaded into the target.
• Collaborate with the data engineering team to support the data migration process, ensuring data is accurately and efficiently moved to the data analytics platform.
• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Qlik to provide insights into the migration process and the migrated data.
• Perform data validation and quality assurance checks to ensure data integrity and accuracy in the data analytics platform.
• Work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and project managers to gather requirements, provide updates, and ensure the migrated data meets business needs.

Requirements/Experience:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical field.
Experience: Seven (7) years of experience in engineering/science management, operations research analysis or financial/cost analysis. Experience shall include collection, review, and analysis of information in order to make recommendations to the Government. Analyze relevant data, which may include annual revenues, employment, or expenditures. Interview managers and employees while observing their operations. Develop solutions to problems. In the course of preparing recommendations, understand the nature of the organization, the relationship it has with others in the Government, and its internal organization and culture. Prepare and solve mathematical models.
Specific Experience:
• Strong proficiency in T-SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis.
• Proven experience with data mapping and data migration projects.
• Hands-on experience with dashboarding and data visualization tools, specifically Qlik.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
