Teams design and develop cutting-edge satellites and satellite payloads, resilient space architectures, and highly sensitive radar, optical, and passive RF systems.
Current programs include prototyping advanced electronic systems, hardware-in-the-loop testing of tactically relevant payloads with representative threat systems, development of RF subsystems for satellite platforms, and analysis of spacecraft mission dynamics, environmental effects, and system resiliency.
Job Description
We are seeking a Space Systems Engineer specializing in EMI/EMC and space radiation effects to analyze and test the impact of space environmental conditions on advanced electronics and spacecraft systems.
Responsibilities may include system analysis, systems engineering, test design and execution, measurement and instrumentation, data collection and analysis, documentation and reporting, and coordination across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
The successful candidate will be capable of leading complex technical efforts, contributing to advanced research initiatives, and independently solving challenging engineering problems.
Occasional travel may be required to support field exercises, program reviews, and technical presentations.
Requirements
Education
PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
A Master’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience may also be considered
Experience
Significant experience in at least two of the following areas, with familiarity or interest in several others:
Physics disciplines such as classical electromagnetics and space radiation environment effects
RF systems and/or high-speed digital systems design, fabrication, and testing
Space systems engineering including vehicle design, space environments, and mission operations
Environmental testing (vibration, thermal vacuum, EMI/EMC, payload integration)
Test design, procedure development, and execution
Investigative data analysis and rapid troubleshooting of complex systems
Development of automated analysis and reporting tools or custom analysis applications
Additional Skills
Ability to build productive and respectful working relationships
Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to solve complex engineering and technical problems
Ability to quickly learn and apply advanced technical knowledge
Programming experience in analytical or scientific environments (MATLAB, Python, C/C++, or similar)
Preferred
Active Top Secret security clearance
Compensation
Recent Graduate Hiring Range: $145,200 – $170,000
Experienced Hiring Range: $145,200 – $220,000
Final compensation will depend on experience, education, internal equity, and role scope.
