Position Summary

Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity providing Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) supporting the US Space Force mission to defend National Security Interests in Space as a Space-based Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Systems Analyst supporting Mission Delta 2 (MD2), Mission Integration Directorate (MID).

This position is located at Peterson SFB, CO with the opportunity to to telework 1 - 2 days per week at the discretion of the Government.

SDA is foundational to Protecting and Defending US Space Systems that provide space-based Intelligence, Early Warning, Communications and Global Positioning services that sustain our way of life, support our national economy and act as force multipliers in times of conflict. Combat Forces Command (CFC) Mission Delta 2 (MD2) leads SDA operations with current SDA programs of record, networks, and Command and Control (C2) data exploitation and dissemination systems and is responsible for integration of SDA sensor data, accredited Space Surveillance Network (SSN) or non-traditional sources, for USSPACECOM missions while sustaining existing various sensor systems including Eglin Radar, Space Fence, C-Band Radar, Australia, the Ground-Based Electro Optical Deep Space Surveillance (GEODSS) system, and the Space Surveillance Telescope (SST). Additionally, MD2 plays a critical role monitoring, directing and supporting U.S. and Allied Partners' dedicated space-based, collateral and contributing ground-based sensors, and commercial sensors.

Odyssey Systems provides A&AS support to the Government in five areas: Product Support, Sustainment Engineering & Sustainment Management, Technical Order Management, Technical User Interface, and System Design, Engineering, and Integration. These tasks are executed laterally with SpOC, USSPACECOM, Space Systems Command, development contractors, and SDA stakeholders.

Responsibilities

An A&AS contractor is a knowledgeable and trusted advisor to the Government. As a Space-based Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Systems Analyst , you will join the MID team and perform a wide range of project management and engineering tasks, research, studies, and analysis that provide engineering, technical, and managerial direction for problem definition, analysis, requirement development, and implementation for complex systems in the engineering disciplines. You will provide A&AS support for the engineering and testing of Advanced and Legacy SDA systems. Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop engineering schedules and costs estimates; support the Program Manager to monitor and analyze cost and schedule performance
  • Draft, review, and provide input during the development of overarching system requirements and design documentation to include technical requirements documents (TRD); capability description documents (CDD); capability production documents (CPD); interface control documents (ICDs); system specifications and system, test and acceptance documentation
  • Provide proposal analysis support services that compare and quantify proposed systems, components, and approaches for technical feasibility, compatibility, and cost-effectiveness
  • Provide technical recommendation support services, including reviews, studies, audits, evaluations and analyses, scientific and procedural guidance, documentation, technical analysis, and support of associated engineering IPTs.
  • Support development of system integration plans, procedures, and scenarios
  • Participate in trade studies to support the selection of preferred design solutions, commercial hardware or software components, and preferred course of action alternatives in project development/system delivery
  • Develop, plan, and implement, strategies; develop analysis; analyze and evaluate test results for complex system and subsystem test and evaluation activities; perform validation of systems, including the development of criteria and procedures
  • Support the development of system test plans in accordance with project technical, schedule, and cost constraints, support site and system test activities with contractor and Program Office personnel
  • Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules; identify program risks and mitigations
  • Coordinate and lead resolution of system issues and deficiencies with prime contractors, depot contractors other support contractors; monitor contractor performance during Developmental Test and Evaluation (DT&E), fielding, Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E), and Operational Acceptance (OA)
  • Identify and track development and sustainment risks in support of Government activities; develop and execute technology insertion and risk reduction strategies, studies, and recommendations to mitigate identified risk conditions
  • Provide relevant input to acquisition planning activities, upgrades and modifications, and studies and interface with stakeholders, contractor personnel, and product integrators
  • Develop and maintain relationships with DoD, Air Force, Space Force, and Intelligence Community stakeholders throughout the Space Domain Awareness enterprise
  • Travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations upon government direction
  • Other duties as required/requested by the Government and within the scope of the S3 contract


Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Clearance: Active Secret clearance, eligible for Top Secret/SCI

Education: Bachelor's degree minimum, any discipline, science or arts.

Years of Experience: 3 or more years of relevant experience operating, or in direct support, to any operational system associated with USSPACECOM/USSF. An additional 3 or more years operating, or in direct support, to any operational system associated with any space- or ground-based SDA sensor systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

Clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI clearance, eligible for Special Access Programs (SAP)

Other Qualifications:
  • Experience as an A&AS support contractor
  • Experience in DoD software and hardware waterfall development efforts
  • Experience with sensors, particularly space-based SDA sensors.
  • Experience with multiple SDA sensors, space- or ground-based.
  • Experience with multi-mission sensors that contribute to SDA.
  • Experience with acquisition/integration of next-generation space surveillance sensor systems or upgrades to existing SDA sensor capabilities.
  • Experience with government testing of space systems.
  • Experience with SDA sensors in commercial/civil and/or academia settings.

Additional Information:

Location: Work is performed at 775 Loring Ave, Colorado Springs, CO with work and meetings intermittently performed at Schriever Space Force Base and Prime Contractor location

Travel: Up to 20% to CONUS and OCONUS locations upon Government direction

Hybrid: Opportunity to telework 1-2 days per week at the discretion of the Government
