Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an opening for a Senior Director, Business Development, reporting to the Vice President, Space Systems Sector Business Development. This role performs as Campaign Lead for Space Sector Priority Wins and as the Strategic Operations Lead to the Vice President Business Development. Initial focus for this role will be acting as the Deputy to the Sector VP for a cross-Sector Next-Gen Layered Homeland Defense campaign.
The preferred location for this role is McLean, Falls Church, or Dulles, VA. Other East Coast locations, such as Baltimore, MD or Melbourne, FL, will also be considered.

Primary Level Salary Range: $203,900.00 - $305,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

- Leading cross-functional teams to drive coordinating and capture success across the enterprise
- Planning capture efforts from initial opportunity interest brief through award and building the requisite team
- Achieving and maintaining Executive support through Sprint/Status Reviews, Gate Reviews, and signoffs
- Developing insight into customer needs, wants, and concerns leveraging and partnering with the BD team and other capabilities within the enterprise
- Developing capture strategies (including offering approach, shaping, and advocacy) based on customers, competitors, and the Business Case to improve the probability of acquiring profitable business
- Managing the execution of high-priority projects that support business growth and long-term objectives
- Providing counsel to the VP, BD on strategic, operational, and organizational matters, and ensuring alignment to the enterprise and sector goals
- Overseeing day-to-day operations related to business development, ensuring processes and systems support overall efficiency

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with minimum of 15 years of experience in Aerospace & Defense
- Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance at the time of application
- Established credibility and demonstrated expertise in capture strategy and execution
- Strong project management skills with the ability to execute initiatives with urgency, accuracy and efficiency will be required
- Technical Fluency
- Knowledge of and relationships with customers in the Department of War and National Security.
- Demonstrated experience as capture leader on multiple competitive captures
- Strong verbal communications skills and prior experience briefing executives
- Experience leading customer engagements with government customers
- Experience leading a proposal or being a senior leader on a large proposal
Preferred Qualifications:
- Multi-Division or Multi-Sector Capture/Campaign Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field and Master's degree in technical/business field
- Experience with the DOD and National Security acquisition processes including supporting processes such as requirements development and budgeting
- Experience engaging in discussion about space-based mission capability, system architecture, and technology
- Ability to generate compelling written and visual content and leverage analysis to convey key messages
- Familiarity with relevant Northrop Grumman space systems and enterprise products
- Familiarity with relevant Northrop Grumman business units, Legislative Affairs, Corporate Global Business Development Office, and Communications teams
