Senior Data Architect

Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions (CARS) was created with the purpose of providing integrated enterprise IT support to Federal customers both CONUS and OCONUS. CARS employs Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with decades of experience working in the Federal marketplace.

The Senior Data Architect is responsible for developing data warehousing blueprints, evaluating hardware and software platforms, and integrating systems.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a data warehouse environment, including data design, database architecture, metadata, and repository creation.
  • Evaluate the reusability of current data for additional analyses.
  • Translate business needs into long-term architecture solutions.
  • Define, design, and build dimensional databases.
  • Conduct data cleaning to rid the system of old, unused, or duplicate data.
  • Review object and data models and the metadata repository to structure the data for better management and quicker access
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with 8+ years of experience
  • IBM Certified Data Architect, AWS Certified Big Data - specialty or industry equivalent certification
  • DoD 8570/8140 IAT-II compliant
  • TS/SCI clearance required


Preferred Qualifications:
  • AWS Certificated Data Engineer - Associate or comparable industry certification


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Experience developing and documenting database architectures via database architectural strategies at the modeling, design, and implementation stages
  • Experience developing database solutions by designing proposed system; defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, security, back-up, and recovery
  • Experience with using ETL (extract, transform, load) best practices in the creation of the database
  • Experience determining database structural requirements by analyzing client operations, applications, and programming
  • Experience managing data structures at the design phase of SQL and Non-SQL database management
  • Experience executing projects/programs with similar requirements
