V2X seeks a Facilities Operation Professional to provide Facilities Engineering support, expertise and advice to identify and implement solutions for challenges related to the successful planning, programming, engineering, operations, and management of National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) facilities.

The successful candidate shall provide Facilities Engineering support for NGA personnel and mission activities assigned at the National Reconnaissance Office's (NRO) Mission Ground Station and Aerospace Data Facilities. This position is affiliated with NGA's Installations Operations Office (SIO), Space and Interiors Division (SIOI).

We are hiring for a Facilities Engineer with an active TS/SCI and the ability to obtain and maintain a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph clearance to support our government customer based in Springfield, VA.

Responsibilities

  • Providing engineering services for facility management, operations, and maintenance, and project management for NGA's sustainment, restoration, and modernization projects at ADF-SW, or those conducted by NRO in support of NGA's co-located activity.
  • Providing facility engineering services in accordance with both NGA and NRO policies, regulations, instructions, and directives, and with full transparency and collaboration with the facility host, NRO.
  • Supporting NRO Strategic Facilities Master Planning for ADF-SW workspace(s) occupied by the NGA workforce onsite.
  • Leading project management of all space planning and interior space modifications to ensure the NGA workforce and operational activities at SDF-SW are able to perform their missions in support of global operations, 24/7/365.
  • Facilitating NGA services at ADF-SW, including conferencing, visitor and protocol support, inclement weather planning, preparation and response, security enhancement, and facility operations.
  • Providing planning and execution coordination for the assessment, maintenance, enhancement, and provision of workspace furnishings, facility upgrades, and safety measures for the NGA workforce at ADF-SW.
  • Conducting, planning, and executing and coordinating for the final disposition (e.g. turn-in) of all furnishings and property at end-of-life, including NGA IT decommissioned systems.
  • Supporting execution of data center renovations regarding NGA IT system decommissioning and relocations.
  • Representing NGA workforce and mission activity requirements at any space management, systems engineering and integration, and NRO integration working groups and boards at ADF-SW and NRO HQ as required.
  • Closely working with local ADF-SW staff and SIOI leadership to ensure the establishment and/or implementation of sound operational business practices that yield quality results, remain within budgetary constraints, and meet targeted deadlines.
  • Researching and developing courses of action, assessing risks and opportunities, estimating resource requirements and recommending solutions regarding strategic facilities management issues and tasks.

Qualifications

  • Duties include:

  • Education / Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical or Electrical engineering preferred) or related technical area of study or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Required Experience:
  • TS/SCI clearance.
  • 15+ years of experience in Facilities Operations, Management or Engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience working in program or project management.
  • Demonstrated experience working on cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in a distinct functional or cross-functional business area related to facilities operations, management or programming.
  • Experience may be broad-based crossing multiple markets (i.e., government, industry) and may also include relevant/associated certifications and knowledge of applicable tools, methodologies, or best practices.
  • Knowledge and experience with building or facility plans, designs, configuration, and equipment maintenance.
  • Knowledge of facility/building systems such as structural, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, sophisticated control systems, pavement and integrated personnel security and protection systems related to facilities engineering and operations.
  • Strong communication (oral and written), interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Desired Experience:
  • Experience leading teams.
  • Experience working with the Intelligence Community (IC).
  • Experience working with NGA.
  • Demonstrated experience navigating through ambiguous circumstances/situations and proposing innovative solutions to resolve technical and related issues.
  • Customer Service experience in federal and or intelligence community.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Registration as a professional engineer in one of the 50 US states or a US Territory.
  • Knowledge of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), Uptime Institute Data Center, ASHRAE and NEC standards.
  • Understanding of IC and/or DoD planning, programming, budgeting and/or engineering procedures and policies.
  • Skills & Technology Used:
  • Comprehensive computer knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Additional skills include the following: briefing skills, project management, organizational skills, and communication skills.
