Job Description

We have an opening for a Maintenance Coordinator. You will provide advanced technical and administrative oversight and/or coordination of Corrective, Preventative, and Predictive Maintenance of Superblock (SBK) facilities and infrastructure. You will also support work planning activities, and coordinate the efficient use of manpower, materials, equipment, and time to ensure proper and efficient operation and adherence to security, environmental, health and safety regulations. This position will report programmatically to the Superblock and administratively to the Defense Technologies Engineering Division (DTED), within the Engineering Directorate.

This position requires full-time on-site presence due to the nature of the work.

This position will be filled at either level based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level.

In this role you will
  • Exercise significant technical and/or administrative authority to ensure jobs are ready for maintenance. Communicate weekly updates with operations team on current jobs.
  • Collaborate with craft supervisor to obtain outside craft personnel as needed for maintenance. Support the onboarding of all new craft workers, and build the daily and weekly maintenance schedules for plumbers and electricians.
  • Ensure complex technical processes and procedures are in place to ensure activities are on the Facility Activity Schedule, Enterprise Asset Management, Work Control Documents (WCD) and are ready to go, ensuring unescorted staff have access into Radioactive Materials Area's and inside SBK, and ensuring WCDs are signed off (includes off hours requests). Act as the link between maintenance and operations.
  • Collaborate with engineers to complete procurement of outside vendors as needed as Subcontract Technical Representative.
  • Coordinate with maintenance project coordinator to get work orders released (ready to assign), and with work planners to move work control documents through process, acting as the Responsible Individual (RI)/ALT RI on work control documents.
  • Interact and coordinate with programmatic personnel to obtain access into rooms so that crafts can perform maintenance activities. Write Lockout Tagout plans and provide oversight for maintenance activities.
  • Prepare change requests by analyzing moderately complex data and working with Facility Safety Officers to complete change requests for necessary upgrades.
  • Perform other duties and assigned.

Additional job responsibilities, at the 369.2 Level
  • Provide highly advanced technical and administrative direction and/or oversight in support of SBK's maintenance, planning, estimating, and inspecting activities.
  • Provide highly advanced direction and/or oversight to meet maintenance requirements and to ensure proper and efficient completion of program work by planning, directing, and coordinating the efficient use of manpower, materials, equipment, and time.
  • Exercise extensive technical and/or administrative authority to execute technical lead or supervisory responsibilities, including directing complex maintenance activities.
  • Provide highly advanced technical guidance to train and mentor other personnel.
  • May collaborate with senior management on issues related to budgets and strategic planning.


Qualifications

  • Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or related technical field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience with related experience in construction and operations of facility systems or utility site infrastructure systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical or electrical design and installation standards and practices.
  • Significant experience in the operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of facility mechanical or electrical equipment and systems.
  • Ability to identify, develop and effectively communicate recommendations to engineers regarding facility equipment construction activities.
  • Significant experience developing documentation or instructions in support of construction activities.
  • Significant experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment which includes scientists, engineers, technicians, and crafts, and advanced verbal and written communication skills necessary to effectively collaborate in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible, reprioritize, and change programmatic direction depending on emergent requests.
  • Ability to quickly learn facility processes and procedures.

Additional qualifications at the 369.2 Level
  • Extensive technical and administrative experience, including highly advanced technical and administrative authority in executing construction activities and operations.
  • Extensive experience directing complex fabrications, assemblies, and procurements, including construction projects or similar activities.
  • Highly advanced knowledge of the standards, procedures, and techniques related to maintenance and/or construction project coordination.

Pay Range

$125,310 - $185,640 Annually

$125.310 - $153,444 Annually for the 369.1 level

$151,620 - $185,640 Annually for the 369.2 level

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting; pay will not be below any applicable local minimum wage. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Security Clearance

This position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance.
