Mid-Level Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) Manager

ATI has a current need for a full-time Mid-Level Hazmat Manager. This role involves working in secure environments in support of mission-critical operations.

• Competitive salary; $110,000 - $130,000/year depending on experience

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Candidates must be US citizens with an active Top Secret clearance;
• A Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) or higher from an accredited university; Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Geology, Chemical Engineering, or Industrial Hygiene majors preferred;
• A strong grasp of toxicology, hydrology, and thermodynamics;
• At least 4 years of relevant, professional-level experience preferred;
• Work experience should involve the "lifecycle" of hazardous materials, including;
o Identifying and classifying hazardous substances;
o Developing spill response and emergency plans;
o Conducting site investigations or remediation; and
o Managing regulatory compliance (EPA, OSHA, DOT).
• Must hold a CHMM certification;
• 40-hr HAZWOPER, CGDP certifications preferred;
• Must have experience with RCRA, TSCA, EPCRA, OSHA CFR 1910.120, OSHA Hazard communication, and DOT regulations;
• Ability to spot inconsistencies, errors, or missing information quickly and accurately;
• Organized and methodical in managing tasks, ensuring all steps are completed without oversight;
• Crisis management experience/skills; and
• Ability to translate complex scientific data into actionable safety instructions for non-technical staff.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay Range: $110,000 - $130,000/year depending on experience

Location: Springfield, VA

Working Hours: Normal Work Hours – Monday – Friday (anticipate 40 per week).
