As a SUPERVISORY OPERATIONS RESEARCH ANALYST (FUTURES BRANCH CHIEF) at the GS-1515-15 some of your typical work assignments may include:
- Leads development of the future joint operating environment and aligns Joint Warfighting Concept-related wargaming, experimentation, exercises, and research to National Defense Strategy priorities.
- Builds and sustains strategic partnerships with senior leaders (2- and 3-star level), Combatant Commands, the Intelligence Community, interagency partners, and allies to advance joint concept and CONOPS development.
- Directs complex analytic projects and events (e.g., wargames, tabletop exercises, red challenge workshops) to assess future threats, evaluate capability gaps, and mitigate risk across DOTMLPF domains.
- Applies advanced research and data analysis methodologies to produce analytically rigorous assessments and actionable recommendations for senior decision-makers.
- Manages branch resources and technical performance; supervises and develops military, civilian, and contract personnel to strengthen analytic rigor and joint perspective.

- Forecasting the future joint operating environment and translating findings into joint warfighting concepts, CONOPS, or capability development initiatives.
- Designing, leading, and evaluating analytic projects involving wargaming, experimentation, operational assessments, or related analytic events.
- Developing assessment methodologies and analytic frameworks; applying advanced research and data analysis techniques to produce defensible recommendations for senior leaders.
- Leading or supervising multidisciplinary teams and coordinating across Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, the Intelligence Community, interagency, or allied partners.
