Duties
DUTIES:
Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS). Provides program management and acts as the focal point for all matters involving the IDS supporting the installation/wing PL 1-4 restricted and controlled areas. Ensures IDS requirements are met for the installation's PL 1-4 resources. Identifies IDS deficiencies through testing and initiates, coordinates, or recommends corrective action as required. Analyzes data to identify compliance or noncompliance, vulnerabilities, trends, strengths, and benchmarks. Conducts training classes for security forces personnel. Prepares lesson plans and teaches formal or informal training courses for personnel in various Security Forces functional activities in accordance with AFI 36-2646. Provides expertise in resolution of ESS operational and technical problems associated with state-of-the-art intrusion detection, access control, and video assessment technology. Reviews contractors' ESS proposals, including hardware, software, sensors, communications, and test/checkout procedures. Assists in the oversight of security projects being accomplished by contract to ensure that all actions are properly and effectively administered in compliance with applicable contracting laws and regulations.

This is an NH-03 position with full salary potential within that band, however the initial salary range offered for this position will be $104,349.00 - $161,313.00 which includes locality pay percentage, unless statutory rules prevail. Follow on salary increases based on contribution MAY be earned within the full salary of the NH-03 pay band. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next to lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in the Federal Service. Specialized experience must include producing desired results, in the needed timeframe, with the appropriate level of supervision through the use of appropriate knowledge, skills, abilities, and understanding of the technical requirements of the job. Achieves, demonstrates, and maintains the appropriate qualifications necessary to assume and execute key acquisition and/or support requirements. Plus Demonstrates skilled critical thinking in identifying, analyzing, and solving complex issues, as appropriate. and takes and displays personal accountability in leading, overseeing, guiding, and/or managing programs and projects within assigned areas of responsibility. Plus work is timely, efficient and of acceptable quality.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

Department of Defense Physical Security Certification (PSC) conferral is required within 2 years of the established
employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DOD 3305.13-M, DoD Security Accreditation and Certification and AFI 36-2645, Security Professional Certification and Development. The listed certification requirements may not be delegated or their delegated security career field representative.
Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 21 days per year.
Physical Required: Due to heavy lifting (approx. 30-50lbs), extended periods of standing or walking, traversing uneven terrain, stooping, kneeling or reaching above head.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
