Duties

  • You will manage, coordinate and integrate technical aspects of computer and network cybersecurity with administrative policies and practice to provide the strongest possible IT defense-in-depth.
  • You will improve enterprise cybersecurity by leveraging industry methods and tools.
  • You will present to managers the state of information technology (IT) systems to provide a clear picture of operational stability.
  • You will evaluate cybersecurity risks to mitigate system vulnerabilities.

  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 511, proficiency level intermediate the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.

Qualifications

FOR GS-12
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Analyzing cybersecurity standards, policies and procedures to recommend changes needed in existing policies and procedures, 2) Modifying cybersecurity approaches to meet new or unique situations, emergent requirements, or special requirements, and 3) Integrating cybersecurity solutions into the design, development, and /or management of operating systems.

FOR GS-11
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Installing anti-virus soft ware to protect systems, 2) Assisting with the development of solutions to cybersecurity issues, and 3) Conducting vulnerability scans to detect weakness in systems.
