Job Purpose:
- The Air Instructor Controller at Knight Federal Solutions Inc is responsible for providing expert guidance and instruction in air traffic control operations. This role is crucial in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of aircraft within controlled airspace, and involves training and mentoring air traffic control personnel to maintain high standards of operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for air traffic control personnel, focusing on both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
- Evaluate the performance of trainees through assessments and simulations, providing feedback and guidance for improvement.
- Stay updated with the latest regulations, technologies, and procedures in air traffic control to ensure training programs are current and effective.
- Collaborate with other instructors and air traffic control staff to identify training needs and develop customized training solutions.
- Conduct regular reviews of training materials and methodologies to enhance the quality and effectiveness of instruction.
- Provide mentorship and support to trainees, fostering a positive learning environment and encouraging professional development.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory standards in the delivery of air traffic control training.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of air traffic control operations by contributing insights and recommendations based on training outcomes and industry best practices.
Qualifications
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Air Traffic Control, or a related field.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in air traffic control or a similar aviation environment.
- Proven experience in instructing or training within an air traffic control setting.
- Experience with military air operations or working within a defense-related environment is highly desirable.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of air traffic control procedures and regulations.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively instruct and convey complex information.
- Ability to work under pressure and make quick, informed decisions in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in using air traffic control simulation software and tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess and improve training programs.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team and adapt to changing operational requirements.
- High level of attention to detail and commitment to maintaining safety standards.
