Summary/Objective
Five Stones Research Corporation (5SRC) is seeking energetic candidates to join our established and growing Huntsville-headquartered team.
Essential Functions
- Independently plan, develop, organize, author, and substantively edit complex technical documentation requiring interpretation and application of engineering data, military standards, and test methodologies.
- Collaborate with engineers to interpret and translate complex division-level test and evaluation operations into comprehensive technical procedures and documentation.
- Analyze and evaluate test data for technical accuracy, completeness, and consistency with applicable standards and test objectives.
- Interpret and integrate complex test data and results into comprehensive technical reports requiring independent judgment in data presentation and narrative development.
- Exercise independent judgment in translating complex engineering concepts, product requirements, and technical specifications into clear, accurate, and audience-appropriate technical narratives and graphical representations.
- Interpret and apply test specifications and documentation requirements, exercising discretion in determining appropriate structure, content, and presentation to ensure technical accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Apply advanced knowledge of test procedures, military standards (MIL-STDs), military specifications (MIL-SPECs), military performance specifications (MIL-PRFs), etc. as well as aerospace and other relevant standards to develop technically compliant documentation consistent with U.S. Army Test & Evaluation Command (ATEC) and U.S. Army Redstone Test Center (RTC) standards.
- Independently determine appropriate explanatory and procedural writing approaches for diverse technical and non-technical audiences.
- Monitor test and project technical documents progress through the review process incorporating substantive technical feedback and resolving documentation issues through independent analysis and professional judgment.
Required Education and Experience
- BA/BS in English, Communications, or related disciplines from an accredited college/university.
- Minimum of five years' experience in technical writing for a research and development organization.
