DevOps Engineer (Must have Kubernetes)
Chantilly, VA
The DevOps Engineer manages cloud and on-prem infrastructure to deliver complex software into production. This role focuses on building repeatable CI/CD processes, automation tools, and robust infrastructure-as-code solutions. The ideal candidate is a self-directed innovator capable of keeping pace with high-demand software development in an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Administer repeatable cloud and server-based environments across customer and lab settings.
  • Build and maintain robust pipelines using GitLab, Docker, Ansible, Terraform, and Puppet.
  • Design, test, and deploy software tools to extend or replace existing infrastructure capabilities.
  • Collaborate with software engineers and data scientists to troubleshoot complex issues and provide ongoing production maintenance.
  • Author and update system documentation, training materials, and standard operating procedures.
Required Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience building and deploying infrastructure via Ansible and Terraform.
  • Expert knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes, including onboarding software into Kubernetes environments.
  • Deep proficiency in Linux-based systems and Shell scripting.
  • Experience with Git, Maven, Elasticsearch, Opensearch, Prometheus, and Grafana.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Rancher or cloud-native distributions (EKS, AKS, GKE, OpenShift).
  • Programming proficiency in Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and Apache NiFi.
  • Working knowledge of Hadoop, Apache Spark, and related technologies.
