Deployment Readiness Engineer

Location: Chantilly, VA

Peraton is looking for a Deployment Readiness Engineer to support regional deployment and installation activities by coordinating efforts between Engineering Services and field teams to ensure successful implementation of systems and equipment. Acting as a regional field lead, this role provides local operational knowledge to optimize site visit planning and improve geographic deployment efficiency.

The Deployment Readiness Engineer is responsible for ensuring all installation activities comply with applicable FAA installation guidelines, policies, and technical standards. This role requires hands-on involvement in hardware and software deployment, field testing, and operational readiness to ensure systems are properly installed, configured, and functioning prior to operational turnover.
Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate installation and deployment activities across regional sites in collaboration with Engineering Services and field teams.
  • Support planning and execution of field deployments, including site preparation, equipment installation, system testing, and operational validation.
  • Provide regional expertise to identify geographic efficiencies and optimize site visit scheduling and deployment logistics.
  • Ensure all installation activities comply with FAA installation guidelines, technical standards, and program policies.
  • Perform hands-on installation, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of complex hardware and software systems.
  • Support field operations in remote or rugged environments and travel extensively to deployment locations as required.
  • Document installation activities, deployment status, and technical findings through detailed technical reports.
  • Communicate effectively with internal engineering teams, field technicians, and program stakeholders to ensure deployment readiness and issue resolution.
  • Assist in troubleshooting deployment challenges and recommend solutions to improve installation efficiency and system performance.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.
  • US Citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a public trust clearance.
  • Experience in field service engineering, system deployment, installation engineering, or technical support roles.
  • Hands-on experience installing, testing, and maintaining complex hardware and software systems.
  • Ability to work in field environments, including remote or rugged locations.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively to support deployment operations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce technical reports and brief stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting federal programs or FAA systems and infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with telecommunications, radio, or network system deployments.
  • Experience coordinating installation teams across multiple geographic locations.

SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range

Details

Target Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
