Director, Preemptive Cyber & AI Autonomy

Tyto Athene is hiring a Director, Preemptive Cyber & AI Autonomy to quarterback our AI-augmented defensive cyber and Zero Trust (ZT) big bets. This isn't a "slides-only" role. You are a visionary who can drive bridging the gap between a cyber vision a live AI power cyber solution, driving a strategy that shifts the federal mission from detect-and-respond to anticipate-and-neutralize .

Responsibilities:

• You will define and socialize the vision for our Cyber Digital Twin and Adversarial AI Intellectual Property, ensuring our offerings move at "machine speed" to counter cyber threats.
• Collaborate directly with our Tyto Solution Mission Factory, Technology Acceleration Lab for Operational Needs (TALON) engineers to build solution accelerators that don't just "AI-wash" conventional detect-and-respond approaches - they are built ground up to anticipate and neutralize against AI powered adversaries.
• Act as the technical "face" of Tyto in the DoD, Intel Community and across Federal, engaging senior leaders in high-impact whiteboarding sessions to co-create the next generation of Cyber solutions.
• Work with Alliances and Marketing to ensure our "Cyber AI" is more than just buzzwords, but a proven, scoreable differentiator in the most complex competitive procurements in the federal sector.

Qualifications

Required:

• 10+ years delivering mission IT, with a significant "tour of duty" (5+ years) in the DoD/Warfighter or Intel space.
• 8+ years of deep cybersecurity experience. You've assessed the requirements, designed the architecture, and seen it through to implementation.
• 3+ years specifically innovating within SOC/Cyber Ops environments. You know why traditional detect and respond strategies fall short and how AI can transform these approaches.
• 2+ years integrating AI/ML for sensemaking of SOC data. You understand what it means to add mission context to SOC data, and have made progress accelerating Mean Time to Understanding.
• Deep fluency in NIST 800-53, RMF, and the CISA/DoD Zero Trust Reference Architectures.
