Data Governance Lead
Location: Remote
Description:
Seeking an experienced Data Governance Lead to join our team supporting Veterans. This role will be part of an expanded analytics requirements/solutioning/development team for VA LGY. This role specifically supports VA LGY's efforts to maintain and expand its Collibra data catalog and other documentation, as well as incorporate relevant Collibra functionality.
Job Responsibilities:
• Establish/maintain data governance framework to be used by the program teams
• Work with data owners across the organization to enhance data dictionary/documentation/lineage to provide trust in data
• Design and develop conceptual, logical, and solution data models that support modern operational and data analytics systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product owners, developers, DevSecOps engineers, and business analysts to translate business requirements into robust data structures and workflows
• Analyze existing datasets and legacy schemas to guide data migrations and inform the modernization of applications and services.
Required Skills:
• Experience with Collibra
• Proven experience with data governance principles and practices
• Experience working with large data sets
• Data analytics experience
• Familiarity with data quality tools and techniques
• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance
Desired Skills:
• Experience supporting federal government programs or VA systems.
• Familiarity with LGY product line or large-scale enterprise environments.
• Current Public Trust Clearance
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience
