Washington, DC (On-Site/Office)
We are seeking a Strategic Capture Manager to identify and pursue high-growth opportunities across the defense, intelligence, and maritime security sectors. This role bridges the gap between complex technical capabilities—like AI-driven maritime analytics and underwater sensing—and the operational requirements of government customers.
Primary Responsibilities
• Lead the business development lifecycle, managing everything from market research and opportunity shaping to RFI/RFP support and contract negotiation.
• Develop and execute capture strategies for programs involving maritime sensors, real-time data pipelines, and AI-enabled domain awareness systems.
• Translate operational challenges into technical solutions, working directly with government customers to shape new programs and transition pilots into long-term contracts.
• Manage a robust opportunity pipeline, navigating complex procurement processes including SBIR efforts and alternative acquisition pathways.
• Partner with engineering teams to demonstrate core capabilities, ensuring technical systems are aligned with the mission-critical needs of senior leaders.
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with industry peers and allied maritime organizations to strengthen market positioning.
Required Experience
• 4–10+ years of experience in Business Development, Capture Management, or operational leadership within the defense or maritime sectors.
• Demonstrated success leading or supporting captures resulting in multi-million dollar government contracts.
• Deep familiarity with U.S. defense acquisition processes, including FAR-based contracting.
• Strong understanding of AI-driven data platforms, SaaS architectures, and maritime systems (AIS, acoustic systems, or unmanned platforms).
• Ability to engage credibly with both deep-tech engineers and senior government executives.
Preferred Experience
• Prior experience in data engineering, analytics platforms, or enterprise digital transformation.
• Experience working within rapid-growth defense technology firms or "dual-use" startups.
• Existing relationships across the DoD, DHS, or international allied defense organizations.
