Northrop Grumman's Space Systems has an opening for a Manager Software Engineering 3 to lead and manage the Ground Systems Software (SW) Engineering Integrated Product Team (IPT) in Redondo Beach, CA. You will be responsible for leading a team of approximately 70 software engineers and will provide innovative and effective software engineering solutions to complex technical problems.
Core responsibilities include managing all aspects (technical, schedule, and cost) of the SW team; staffing; providing staff during site installations; leading the team in organic growth proposals (including CROMs & ECPs), authoring TD/BOEs and proposal development (including submission, capture, and negotiations); interfacing frequently with internal and external stakeholders, including cross-program counterparts, Tech Support, and the customer; managing program SW; addressing and resolving POA&Ms; following the CVE Assessment Point (CAP) process which includes security patches and vulnerability assessments; and managing subcontractors.
You will be tasked with setting and operating to program objectives and providing guidance to employees. Additional responsibilities include planning, risk management, and project performance. You will work closely with the program PM, Deputy PM, HW Engineering & Logistics team, Integration Support Group, and System Integration & Operations Engineering team. You will work in a dynamic team environment, ensuring personnel follow well-defined processes and will be responsible for managing all software development and software integration & test tasks from inception through completion. You will be responsible for briefing SW status at customer attended monthly status meetings, PMRs, and TMRs.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, presentation, organizational, professional development, and mentoring skills; demonstrated ability to implement process improvements, streamline activities, and develop efficiencies; and proven technical background in ground systems software development, software integration & test, and SW baseline installations at operational sites.

Primary Level Salary Range: $193,000.00 - $289,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

- Bachelor's degree with 12 years of relevant experience; Master's degree with 10 years of relevant experience; PhD with 8 years of relevant experience; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Top Secret clearance required at the time of application, and the ability to obtain SCI prior to start
- Experience leading a team of software engineers in software development deliverables and processes
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
- Experience performing as a CAM managing cost, schedule, and technical teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Mission 1 experience
- Experience on the program
- Experience with Agile and DevSecOps methodologies
- Experience working with internal and external customers
- Software experience working in a C++/RHEL environment
- 5+ years of previous management experience as a Deputy APM, SPM, or Technical Lead
- Experience with Agile Management
