Join JRC's Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) Team!

JRC is actively recruiting a Network Engineer (Secure Systems) to join our team in Cape Canaveral, FL. Successful candidates shall have a background in cybersecurity, network administration, and system security engineering. A background in or a willingness to learn cybersecurity risk management and software hardening is desired. You will interface and engage with Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) Branches and other SSP contractors to support the critical Navy mission at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
What You'll Do
  • Provide system admin related to software hardening, system management, configuration control, and network administration
  • Participate in the planning and conduct of research and development programs that result in the design, development, evaluation, and support of Cybersecurity & System Security Engineering systems and subsystems
  • Provide technical expertise regarding Cybersecurity & System Security Engineering component manufacturing, supply chain, and quality standards
  • Plan for infrastructure changes and interconnectivity among facilities and analyze network latency impacts from interconnecting facilities over the required distances
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance in design reviews, trade studies, and other technical meetings
  • Develop, review, and maintain drawings, system plans, and technical reports

What You Bring to the Table
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant Engineering Discipline from college or university designated as a Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD) by the National Security Agency (NSA) and US Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
  • Certifications: Security+, CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+),
  • 1+ years of experience in network administrations, cybersecurity, system security engineering or related field
  • An active DoD security clearance at the SECRET level or above (or have held an active DoD clearance within the last 2 years)
  • Experience with enterprise Risk Management Framework (RFM)
  • Understand requirements and defined interfaces between non enterprise systems and facilities to assure performance, integration, and compatibility of the SSP tactical systems
  • Understanding of SSE/cyber within SSP and how that is managed in a non-enterprise or tactical/non-tactical environment
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to an environment unlike anything in the enterprise
  • Ability to think critically to ensure systems/equipment are secured or mitigated from cybersecurity threats/risks
  • A willingness to work in a team environment and the ability to work independently while prioritizing and supporting multiple tasks
  • High quality communication and presentation dexterity

  • Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Understand basic program management through SSP
  • Relevant Engineering Discipline BS: electrical engineering, systems engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or cybersecurity
