Role Description:
The DETECT Technical Lead is responsible for leading advanced cyber threat detection and analysis activities that strengthen the organizations defensive posture. This role oversees technical operations, guiding teams in researching and analyzing adversarial Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) while supporting network defense and incident response (IR) teams.

Role Description:

This role oversees technical operations, guiding teams in researching and analyzing adversarial Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) while supporting network defense and incident response (IR) teams.
The Technical Lead will interpret and contextualize complex threat data, produce actionable recommendations, and ensure detection and intelligence operations align with mission objectives and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the collection, analysis, and dissemination of cyber threat intelligence products for internal and executive stakeholders.
- Oversee the identification of cyber threats, trends, and emerging developments through open-source research and internal data analysis.
- Maintain awareness of adversary activities, including intrusion set TTPs.
- Provide leadership and direction to teams conducting analytical and operational cyber defense missions.
- Communicate events and assessments regarding intrusions, compromises, and vulnerabilities to relevant stakeholders.
- Develop and coordinate threat tracking and assessment activities with partner organizations and government entities.
- Conduct proactive monitoring of internal and external environments for emerging risks, vulnerabilities, and threats.
- Compile, review, and maintain Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documentation to ensure compliance with applicable directives (e.g., Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Manual (CJCSM) 6510.01B).
- Participate in program reviews, product evaluations, and certification assessments to ensure operational readiness and process improvement.
- Present complex technical and analytical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications:

- Secret, with ability to obtain Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI)
Education: N/A
Certification:
- Must meet Department of Defense (DoD) 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level III certification requirements.
- Computer Network Defense (CND) certification.
Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in incident response, IT security, malware analysis, offensive security, or tracking cyber threats.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage intelligence on attacker methodology, tools, and infrastructure to improve security posture.
- Experience collecting, analyzing, and interpreting qualitative and quantitative data for actionable insights.
- Functional understanding of key threat analysis frameworks (Diamond Model, Cyber Kill Chain, MITRE ATT&CK).
- Proficiency with security infrastructure including firewalls, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), proxy servers, email controls, anonymizing technology, and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools.
- Experience creating and managing detections across multiple platforms.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to brief senior leadership.
- Position may require up to 10% travel as needed.
Preferred:
- Experience with analytical tools such as Splunk, Palantir, Shodan, Analyst Notebook, Augury, or similar Threat Intelligence Platforms (TIPs).
- Experience collaborating with intelligence community or interagency partners on cybersecurity topics.
- Proven ability to lead diverse teams under evolving mission priorities.
- Experience in cyber defensive/offensive operations, information operations, or information warfare.
