TIAG is now hiring a System Administrator to perform the daily sustainment and operational support of an ESS Enterprise lab system. This role is responsible for ensuring the health and availability of a secure, air-gapped lab environment. The ideal candidate will be adept at executing scheduled checklists, performing continuous system monitoring, and meticulously documenting all activities to maintain a constant state of readiness.
This position reports onsite with our customer in Charleston, SC and requires an active Secret level security clearance to be considered.

Primary responsibilities
- Perform daily system health checks on all lab servers and services, including LenelOnGuard, Milestone XProtect, and SQL Server services.
- Conduct daily review of Windows Event Viewer logs on all lab servers, identifying and documenting any errors, warnings, or security anomalies.
- Verify the successful completion of nightly Macrium Reflect backups and other scheduled tasks within the lab, escalating any failures to the Systems Engineer.
- Monitor physical hardware status in the lab, checking for any visible amber fault lights on
- servers or other components.
- Conduct monthly deep-dive reviews of system and security logs within the lab environment, analyzing for trends or recurring issues.
- Execute the monthly patch management process by manually deploying pre-packaged and approved WSUS updates, firmware, and antivirus definitions to all lab systems using physical media.
- Perform monthly management of backup media and ensure proper storage of offline backups.
- Conduct quarterly comprehensive audits of Active Directory user accounts within the lab environment, identifying and disabling any unauthorized or inactive accounts.
- Execute all user account administration in the lab's Active Directory, including the creation, modification, and deletion of user accounts based on approved requests.
- Manage role-based access within the lab's Lenel OnGuard application, including assigning permissions, creating badges, and managing access levels as specified in the SA Manual.
- Apply and manage Group Policy Objects (GPOs) in the lab environment as directed to enforce security configurations and system settings.
- Maintain a detailed System Administrator log for the lab, meticulously documenting all actions taken, system changes, incidents, and their resolutions.
- When a system issue is discovered in the lab that cannot be resolved by following documented procedures, gather all relevant logs and data and escalate the issue to the Systems Engineer for advanced troubleshooting.
- Support all data calls from engineering and cybersecurity teams by providing requested logs, reports, or system information from the lab environment.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with the Department of War (DoW) Risk Management Framework (RMF) process and supporting compliance activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field, OR an additional 4 years of equivalent experience in a System Administrator role beyond the base experience requirements.
- Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CCNA Security).
- Proven experience as a System Administrator in a Windows Server environment.
- Proficiency in Active Directory, including user/group management and Group Policy management.
- Direct hands-on experience administering Lenel OnGuard and/or Milestone XProtect VMS.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise backup software (e.g., Macrium Reflect, Veeam, NetBackup) and managing backup media.
- Strong ability to meticulously follow detailed technical procedures, checklists, and manuals.
- Experience working in air-gapped, standalone, or other high-security environments; previous experience in a DoD or other regulated government environment.
- Experience deploying patches using WSUS and performing system health monitoring, including reviewing Windows Event Logs and responding to alerts.
- Active Secret or higher security clearance is preferred.
