Duties

  • You will serve as a Quality Assurance Specialist, providing technical quality surveillance/assessment of the Strategic Weapons Systems (SWS) Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program functions and processes performed at Cape Canaveral.
  • You will perform technical quality assessments of contractor design, modifications, processing, handling, and storage operations.
  • You will function as technical quality representative for processing of the Test Missile Kit (TMK), Active Inert Missile (AIM), and missile Support Equipment design and modification.
  • You will perform investigations and analysis related to technical and quality systems, hardware and documentation, including data collection for trend analysis, to determine the cause(s) of discrepancies/deficiencies and initiate corrective actions.
  • You will develop techniques and perform audits of contractor technical management and quality systems by preparing written reports, used as metrics, for determining contractor quality program effectiveness.
  • You will ensure compliance with procedural and safety directives associated with the movement handling of explosive ordnance to prevent damage to equipment and prevent personnel injury.
  • You will perform the acceptance of missile, missile subsystems, support equipment, spares, repaired items and modification kits.
  • You will assist the Nuclear Weapons Related Material (NWRM) Accountability Officer in executing the NWRM requirements for receipt, shipment, handling, storage, inventory, training, and self assessments.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or NH-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning, developing, or administering a quality assurance program that supports the production and testing of strategic missiles or missile system programs.
