Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following; 1.) Developing local policy and implementing instructions, 2.) Monitoring and maintaining all command Communications Security (COMSEC) materials in regards to proper storage and physical security, 3.) Training all required personnel on proper handling of COMSEC materials, 4.) Interpreting policies at a higher organizational level or national level, 5.) Submitting security clearence investigations for all staff and students, 6.) Utilizing a varitey of security equipment and devices, and 7.) Providing technical advise in reference to COMSEC for classified and unclassified research programs, security operations and procedures.

NPS is a graduate education and advanced research institution with a mission to provide relevant and unique advanced education and research programs to increase the combat effectiveness of commissioned officers of the Naval Service and enhance the security of the United States. NPS employs a workforce consisting of Department of Navy civilian employees (General Schedule and Administratively Determined schedules) and active-duty military personnel from all services. NPS is located on the Naval Support Activity Monterey (NSAM) installation in Monterey, CA. NPS is organized into academic units that are fully accredited to grant Masters and Doctoral Degrees in a multitude of disciplines, using both in-residence education delivery and distance learning.
This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees.
A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.

- You will serve as the Budget, Supply and Minor Property clerk for the command.
- You will identify and resolve issues involving security requirements.
- You will acquire and monitor the command Communications Security (COMSEC) material allowance.
- You will ensure accurate preparation and submission of all account correspondence and accounting reports.
- You will conduct inventories and destruction of COMSEC material in accordance with the required policies and procedures.
- You will verify that physical security measures are taken while transporting COMSEC within the command.
- You will report an known or suspected insecure practices immediately.
- You will conduct monthly and quarterly spot checks.
- You will communicate with military, governments and commercial points of contact as need to procure COMSEC materials.
