Program Overview
This position supports a newly awarded five-year effort delivering modern, mission-critical software capabilities to a national security customer. The program leverages Agile development, DevSecOps practices, and cloud-native technologies to build and enhance scalable enterprise solutions supporting critical mission operations.
Engineers on this effort will work with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy impactful capabilities while helping shape the architecture and technical direction of a long-term, high-visibility program.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Full-Stack Software Engineer to contribute to the design, development, and delivery of scalable software solutions within our engineering organization. This role is responsible for implementing high-quality software across the full stack while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and maintainable systems.
The ideal candidate possesses strong object-oriented programming expertise, backend development experience, and the ability to contribute to front-end and DevOps efforts as needed. This individual will work independently on complex technical tasks while supporting overall team objectives and solution delivery.
Primary Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and maintain scalable software applications using object-oriented design principles.
• Implement and maintain RESTful services to support application functionality and integrations.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries; contribute to database schema updates and performance improvements.
• Develop, deploy, and troubleshoot applications within Linux-based environments.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues spanning application and database layers.
• Contribute to technical design discussions and support implementation of approved architectures.
• Partner with engineers and stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and support adherence to established engineering standards.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field with 8-12 years of relevant experience or Master's degree with 6-10 years of relevant experience.
• Professional experience designing and implementing object-oriented applications using Java or Python.
• Experience developing and maintaining RESTful services.
• Strong experience writing and optimizing queries within relational databases (SQL).
• Working knowledge of Linux environments for development and deployment.
• Experience working on moderately complex technical projects with minimal supervision.
Desired Qualifications
• Experience developing front-end functionality using JavaScript.
• Experience working with GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Docker or OpenShift containerization.
• Experience with Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Tomcat, or Maven.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Experience deploying and supporting applications in AWS environments.
• Experience with modern web frameworks.
Pay Range
$130,000-$160,000
