The Lockwood Group supports a C5ISR hardware and software program for a U.S. Army customer located at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), MD. This effort provides product technical support services for systems and equipment produced, fielded, modified, or sustained under PdM Network Modernization (NetMod) and PdM Mission Network within the Project Manager Tactical Network (PM TN), Program Executive Office C3T (PEO C3T).
The program ensures tactical network systems remain operationally effective, scalable, and Fully Mission Capable (FMC) in support of Army modernization initiatives.
Position Overview
The Systems Engineer supports the design, integration, configuration, and sustainment of tactical network hardware and software systems operating in dynamic military environments. This role requires experience developing modular system architectures, integrating new technologies into existing infrastructures, and supporting system fielding and modernization efforts.
The position operates within structured DoD engineering and acquisition environments and supports mission-critical communication capabilities across multiple platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Translate operational and user requirements into system, hardware, and software specifications and designs
Support integration of new tactical network components into existing infrastructures
Assist in development and execution of system and integration test strategies
Design systems and components using modular architectures with standard interfaces to ensure scalability and adaptability
Break down systems into major components and subcomponents while defining and managing interface relationships
Manage and support network connectivity across platforms including ground vehicles, airborne assets, and command centers
Install and load unit-specific configurations and Internet Protocol (IP) settings aligned with current System Architecture and Lightweight Directory Interchange Format (LDIF) requirements
Ensure PdM NetMod and PdM Mission Network systems achieve and maintain Fully Mission Capable (FMC) status following fielding, reset, or upgrade activities
Communicate technical information effectively with Government stakeholders, engineers, and leadership
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience as a Systems Engineer or performing Systems Engineering-related activities
Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining secure communication networks in military or field-based environments
