Agensys Corporation is seeking a Data Center Engineer / Architect (SME) to provide technical leadership supporting enterprise data center infrastructure within a U.S. Air Force environment at Joint Base Andrews.
This role supports the planning, design, and implementation of enterprise infrastructure solutions supporting mission systems operating across secure DoD networks. The position combines strategic architecture planning with hands-on data center operations to support scalable, resilient, and secure infrastructure environments.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience designing and supporting enterprise data center environments, including power infrastructure, rack architecture, and operational standards. This role also provides operational support including equipment installation, upgrades, and data center operations.

This role also provides operational support including equipment installation, upgrades, and data center operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support strategic data center planning, operations, and migration initiatives
- Design and develop scalable and secure enterprise data center architecture
- Coordinate installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and decommissioning of data center equipment
- Implement rack-level redundancy, rack standards, and power distribution strategies
- Support infrastructure design including:
- Power rail and distribution systems
- Cold aisle / hot aisle containment
- Fire suppression and environmental controls
- Physical security standards
- Provide operational support including rack and stack, equipment upgrades, and consolidations
- Support power continuity planning and response procedures
- Produce architectural artifacts including system diagrams, design documentation, and technical specifications
- Conduct infrastructure performance evaluations and system design reviews
- Research and recommend emerging infrastructure technologies and operational tools
- Develop operational procedures, standards, and engineering documentation
- Support DevSecOps-aligned infrastructure modernization initiatives
- Provide technical findings and root cause analysis reports for infrastructure incidents
- Ensure compliance with enterprise data center security and operational standards
- Active DoD Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Network Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 10+ years of experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure
- Multiple years of hands-on data center operations experience
- Active CompTIA Security+ CE certification (DoD 8140 compliant)
- Experience supporting DoD network environments
- Experience supporting secure network domains such as NIPRNet and SIPRNet
- Experience with data center strategy, planning, and roadmap development
- Strong understanding of enterprise data center infrastructure including:
- Power generation and distribution to rack level
- Redundancy design and infrastructure resilience
- Rack standards and infrastructure layout
- Environmental containment and safety standards
- Experience planning large-scale enterprise infrastructure upgrades
- Experience advising senior technical leadership on infrastructure architecture and limitations
- Experience with IT Service Management platforms such as ServiceNow or Remedy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience producing architecture documentation using Visio or AutoCAD
- Experience supporting U.S. Air Force or DoD enterprise environments
- Experience working at Joint Base Andrews
- ITIL Foundation certification
- Data Center Management certification
- Experience with DCIM tools such as NLYTE
- Experience mentoring engineers or infrastructure teams
- Experience supporting enterprise DevOps or DevSecOps environments
