The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance. APL provides eligible staff with a comprehensive benefits package including retirement plans, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, education assistance, and training and development. As a Senior Voice and Collaboration Engineer...
- Your primary responsibility will be to architect, configure, and optimize collaboration and meeting platforms to provide secure, reliable, resilient, and scalable communication environments that support seamless virtual engagement and enhanced in-person collaboration and content sharing, delivering a consistent, high-quality experience across all meeting spaces.
- Coordinate platform lifecycle management-including upgrades, governance, integrations, performance optimization, and continuous improvement-while evaluating emerging collaboration technologies and recommending architectural enhancements.
- Support and partner in the design, deployment, and lifecycle management of meeting room technologies and integrated collaboration systems, including cameras, room hardware, and collaboration appliances (e.g., Poly, DTEN, Logitech, Zoom Rooms, digital signage platforms).
- Partner with network, infrastructure, security, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of real-time collaboration systems.
- Provide support for enterprise telephony platforms, including Cisco UC, SIP connectivity, cloud telephony, and solutions for contact center operations as needed.
Qualifications
You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...
- Possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Have 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise collaboration and virtual meeting platforms, including solution architecture contributions, Zoom and modern meeting platform administration, configuration, integrations, governance, lifecycle management, and performance optimization.
- Have experience using collaboration analytics and monitoring tools (e.g., Zoom Real-Time Dashboards, Quality Reports, Cisco Control Hub) to ensure platform health and user experience.
- Have experience supporting enterprise meeting room and A/V collaboration technologies, including integrated cameras, room systems, and collaboration hardware.
- Have working knowledge of core networking principles, including routing, switching, and network segmentation, and their impact on collaboration services.
- Hold an active Secret security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

- Master's degree from an accredited institution in a related field.
- Experience leveraging collaboration platform APIs (Zoom, Webex, MS Graph, REST) to develop automation and integration solutions.
- Experience supporting SSO and MFA integrations (e.g., Okta) within collaboration environments.
- Experience with enterprise telephony architecture, including Cisco CUCM, SIP-based connectivity, cloud and virtual telephony platforms, call routing, and contact center technologies, is highly desired.
- Experience with telephony automation tools such as Unimax NumberPro and 2nd Nature.
- Experience supporting mass notification systems such as Alertus and Everbridge.
- Familiarity with E911 compliance requirements, including Ray Baum's Act and Kari's Law.
