The scope of work will range from administrative duties to assisting with community and law enforcement relations.
Administrative Duties:
- Supports the United States Attorney with scheduling and organizing meetings and appointments.
- Assists the United States Attorney in meeting goals of the district through administrative support, such as research, creating reports or other means as necessary.
- Reviews and edits material for reports, briefing materials, press releases, and administrative publications.
- Reviews published materials and recommends revisions or changes in scope, format, and content.
- Types and scans articles
- Maintains records and files of work and revisions.
- Develops and provides supporting materials as required.
- Screens telephone calls and on-site visitors for the United States Attorney.
- Determines the nature, purpose and urgency of the matter.
- Brings urgent matters to the attention of the United States Attorney or directs them to the AUSA or individual that will handle the matter immediately
- Will take contact information and description of non-urgent matters and provide those to the United States Attorney for review or direct it to the responsible party (AUSA or other individual)
- Maintains a log of all callers and visitors to include their contact information and purpose, USAO employee that the matter was sent to, and if the employee followed up.
- Reviews the log to make sure that all matters were followed up by a USAO employee.
Community and Law Enforcement Duties:
- Assists in maintaining relationships with community, media market and Law enforcement
- Attends community programs that are mission oriented
- Perform mission critical travel throughout the district to assist in implementing community and media relations.
- Assists in clerical coordination of the USAO's community partnerships and prevention programs that comprise of joint community/law enforcement nexus, which also includes outreach.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree or High School Diploma/GED
- Ability to review and analyze data and information from multiple sources.
- Ability to establish case/project files.
- Ability to enter and retrieve data from data bases.
- Ability to prepare and format management reports.
- Ability to manipulate, transfer, and compute and print information.
- Ability to create and manipulate spreadsheets.
- Ability to prepare and correct reports and correspondence using word processing software.
