Job Description
Overview:
SOSi is currently seeking an experienced Configuration Specialist to work on site at Ramstein AB, Germany to support our government customer.
Essential Job Duties:
- Provide configuration management support to assigned projects.
- Analyze complex engineering change proposals to determine the effect on the overall system.
- Ensure configuration identification by reviewing design release documents for completeness, proper authorizations, and system updates.
- Implement, update, and maintain enterprise level configuration management products.
- Analyze the current enterprise configuration management implementation and provide a status report before and after remediation actions are engineered and executed.
- Provide weekly activity reports describing activities accomplished.
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing with customers, stakeholders, and technical specialists.
- Lead detailed technical discussions and develop and present required briefing materials to ensure the customer's needs are met.
- Perform various audits and document results.
- Ensure the applications of military standards and requirements for the statement of work are properly implemented.
- Develop configuration and data management documentation based on program requirements.
- Participate in design reviews, audits, scheduling, etc.
- Identify requirements and coordinate development and implementation of computer-based configuration/data management systems and related support.
- Develop and implement new processes.
- Provide mechanisms for managing, tracking, and keeping control of all the project's products.
- Maintain files and libraries of all configuration management products of a project once they have been quality controlled.
- Control access to configuration management products and maintain records of their status.
- Ensure safe and secure storage of each product in a way that is most appropriate for that product.
- Control access to the product to avoid damage and to protect against unauthorized access.
- Select and package various components that comprise the final working product.
- Maintain a system for logging, tracking, and filing all configuration management project issues.
- Provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff members and may have supervisory responsibilities.
- May serve as technical team or task leader.
- Participate in special projects as required.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- An Active in-scope secret clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent years of experience) AND a minimum of five (5) years of related experience.
- Must receive TESA approval from the German government.
- Detailed understanding of ITIL change, configuration, and release management processes.
- Experience with IT project management and O&M coordination.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to extract, understand, and document system specifications and designs from network engineers and system administrators.
- ITIL / ITSM / CMMI experience.
- Experience using an enterprise ticketing system to coordinate and schedule activities (e.g., Remedy, ServiceNow, Ivanti).
- Experience maintaining SCCM including analyzing log files, validating deployment plans, and troubleshooting performance issues.
- Experience using Requirement Management tools (JIRA, Rally, etc.).
- Knowledgeable in multiple current technology areas, including client and server computer hardware and operating systems, end-user desktop software, remote management, IAVA process, and end-user device security management and patching.
- Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
- Developed problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Excellent presentation & communication skills in both oral and written form.
Preferred:
- ITIL Foundations and Intermediate certificate.
- DoD 8570 IAT level II compliant (e.g., CompTIA Security+ certification).
Additional Information
Work Environment
- Normal office conditions with potential to perform duties in deployed locations.
- May be requested to work evenings and weekends to meet program and contract needs.
