The MITRE National Intelligence Division is seeking an Intelligence Analyst Associate to join the Strategic Technology and Economic Foresight Department (N921). This entry-level position supports analytic and technical efforts advancing Intelligence Community priorities in emerging technology, economic security, strategic competition, and long-range foresight.

The Intelligence Analyst Associate will contribute to multidisciplinary analytic teams delivering insight to ODNI and other IC sponsors. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong research and writing skills, intellectual curiosity, and an interest in understanding how technology, economics, and geopolitics intersect to shape national security outcomes.

Roles & Responsibilities:

The Intelligence Analyst will conduct research and analysis on emerging technologies, economic trends, and global competitive dynamics in support of Intelligence Community priorities. The role includes developing analytic products such as white papers, briefings, and technical assessments; contributing to strategic forecasting, technology trend analysis, and risk identification efforts; and assisting senior analysts in evaluating the mission and enterprise implications of technological change. The Analyst will apply structured analytic techniques and data-driven methods to inform sponsor decision-making and will support cross-IC collaboration and mission integration activities to ensure analysis is aligned with operational needs and enterprise priorities.

The primary responsibilities of this position must be carried out in person in McLean, Virginia. The successful candidate will establish regular presence at MITRE and ODNI locations and may be required to travel within the National Capital Region.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in intelligence studies, international relations, economics, engineering, computer science, political science, or a related field and less than 1 year of related or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
  • Strong analytic, research, and writing skills
  • Demonstrated interest in emerging technology, economic security, or national security policy
  • Experience conducting structured analytic techniques or data analysis
  • Familiarity with technology forecasting, economic analysis, or strategic competition topics
  • Ability to gain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • This position has an on-site requirement of 5 days a week on-site


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in a relevant field
  • Internship or prior experience supporting ODNI, IC, DoW, or related national security organizations
  • Experience with with technology forecasting, economic analysis, or strategic competition topics
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, matrixed environment
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
