Senior VMWare Cloud Foundation (VCF) Consultant

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Consultant to support the United States Coast Guard in Kearneysville, WV. This engagement will focus on deploying VMWare Cloud Foundation 9 and integrating it with enterprise automation and security tooling within a secure federal environment.

The selected consultant must possess deep expertise in VCF architecture, automation, and platform integration. The customer technical team is highly knowledgeable; therefore, the consultant must operate at a senior architect level and provide both implementation leadership and knowledge transfer to enable long-term operational independence.

This role is partial onsite presence (one week per month in Kearneysville, WV).

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead deployment of VMWare Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9
• Architect and integrate VCF with:
  • Infolblox
  • Tenable
  • ServiceNow / CMDB
  • Software-Defined Networking (SDN) solutions in coordination with network teams
  • CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure automation
• Design and implement automation frameworks supporting infrastructure-as-code practices
• Configure and optimize SDDC Manager workflows
• Support integration with enterprise security and vulnerability management platforms
• Align VCF deployment with federal security and compliance requirements
• Collaborate with Coast Guard engineering teams and CIO stakeholders
• Develop operational documentation and automation playbooks
• Provide structured knowledge transfer and enablement to government personnel
• Ensure the platform can be independently operated and evolved post-engagement

Required Qualifications:

• Active Secret Clearance
• VMWare Certified Professional (VCP)
• 8+ years of VMware infrastructure experience
• Deep hands-on expertise with:
  • VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)
  • vSphere and vSAN
  • SDDC Manager
  • NSX (as part of VCF environments)
• Strong experience with automation frameworks and infrastructure-as-code concepts.
• Experience integrating VMware platforms with:
  • CMDB platforms (ServiceNow)
  • IPAM/DNS solutions (Infoblox)
  • Vulnerability management tools (Tenable)
• Experience building integrating CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployments
• Strong operating within federal or DoD environments
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage senior government stakeholders
• Ability to travel onsite one week per month to Kearneysville, WV
