Lead VTC Technician | NIWC PAC Mission SupportLocation: San Diego, CA (NIWC PAC Operational Setting) Clearance: Active Secret Compliance: DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II (Security+ CE, CySA+, etc.)The RoleAs the Lead VTC Technician, you will be the technical authority for both classified and unclassified conferencing environments. You aren’t just "plugging in cameras"; you are managing the sophisticated AV/IT bridge that allows senior leadership and operational teams to communicate across the globe. This role requires a blend of high-level technical troubleshooting, project installation, and live "mission-critical" event execution.Key ResponsibilitiesSystem Architecture & InstallationDeployment: Lead the installation, configuration, and integration of enterprise VTC systems (Cisco, Poly, Crestron) within secure facilities.Hardware Integration: Calibrate and configure codecs, high-definition cameras, microphones, digital displays, and complex control systems.Secure Networking: Coordinate with network teams to integrate AV equipment into secure infrastructures, ensuring strict compliance with DoD security protocols.Mission-Critical OperationsEvent Execution: Oversee the end-to-end technical success of high-stakes meetings, from initial call setup and bridging to real-time session monitoring.Classified Support: Manage the unique security requirements of switching between classified and unclassified enclaves.Proactive Readiness: Conduct comprehensive "room sweeps" and system checks prior to scheduled events to guarantee zero-fail performance.Engineering & MaintenanceAdvanced Troubleshooting: Rapidly diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and signal-flow issues (IP addressing, VLANs, and QoS).

Required Technical Skills:
Experience:
5+ years supporting enterprise-grade VTC or professional Audiovisual (AV) systems.
Platform Expertise: Hands-on mastery of Cisco, Poly (Polycom), or Crestron hardware and control interfaces.
Network Literacy: Solid understanding of IP networking, including subnets, VLAN tagging, and Quality of Service (QoS) for voice/video.
Soft Skills: Exceptional customer service and the ability to remain calm under pressure during live high-profile events.
Preferred High-Impact Qualifications:
Prior experience with secure conference room build-outs (SCIF/Classified environments).
Deep knowledge of AV signal flow and digital matrix switching.
Familiarity with network diagnostic and monitoring tools to trace packet loss or latency.
