Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a full-time on-site Network Engineering Manager to support our work as a prime contractor on a high-profile U.S. Navy weapon system. Accuracy, integrity, subject matter expertise, and the ability to work well independently and with others are important traits we expect the successful candidate to possess and demonstrate. This position is full-time on-site at Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC.
This position is responsible for supporting and maintaining the stability, availability and security of the Navy's SSP unclassified and classified networks.

Our organization has supported the U.S. Navy's Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) continually since the program's inception in the 1950s. SSP developed the first sea-based, underwater-launched Strategic Weapon System (SWS), a defense system that is truly critical to our national security. For more than six decades, SSP has maintained and upgraded this weapon system and we have been there every step of the way. The sea-based SWS is the ultimate stealthy weapon system and is the first leg of the U.S. nuclear triad. With over 70% of our nation's nuclear arsenal its importance to maintaining world peace cannot be overstated. The development of Columbia, the most advanced nuclear-powered, nuclear-armed submarine ever designed, as well the next D5LE2 weapon system is under way and will begin to be rolled out over the next decade. The Navy projects this system to be operational through 2084, meaning the program will have a total life span of more than 120 years. This is a unique program and BAE Systems employees on this program understand they are part of an important legacy.
As a decades long sole source partner on multiple contracts on behalf of our customer, our program has remarkable stability and is concurrently experiencing significant growth. Full-Time Salary Range: $132962 - $226035
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

This position is full-time on-site at Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC.
This position is responsible for supporting and maintaining the stability, availability and security of the Navy's SSP unclassified and classified networks.
Key Responsibilities are to:
- Work with a dedicated team that manages the customer's network, provides network engineering support services, IT security, patch management, and field site support
- Design, install, and maintain the network architecture along with implementing and managing network security
- Perform hands on technical work configuring and deploying networking equipment
- Develop short range plans and schedules for the current technical effort and also be part of developing long range plans and schedules for future work.
- Configure network infrastructure to meet DoW security requirements
- Troubleshoot and resolve network infrastructure issues
- Collaborate with customers to determine new network requirements, and meet to review project updates
- Create technical documentation to include technical instructions and technical designs
- Facilitate Team meetings to break down the requirements into tasks, schedule the releases, and support the implementation
- Perform staffing and performance responsibilities in coordination with HR and established processes
- Build and maintain a cohesive Team by establishing, managing, and communicating team expectations, goals, roles, responsibilities, and objectives
- Travel to off-site locations is required.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Working full-time on-site at the Washington Navy Yard
- An active DoW Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
- Ability to meet the requirements for an IAT II certification as specified in the DoW 8570
- Or, have a SECNAV 5239 qualifying degree AND the ability to meet the requirements for an IAT II as specified in the DoW 8570 within 6 months of start date
- Ability to obtain and maintain Common Access Card (CAC), badge access to the customer's facility, and a SSP network account in good standing
- Ten years position related work experience or a bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related degree with six years position related experience
- Well versed in CISCO Technologies along with CLI, CISCO IOS, IOS-XE, IOS-XR
- Experience with Cisco Routing protocols BGP and static routing
- Thorough understanding of IT Infrastructure, network administration, classified LAN management, and wide area networks
- Experience configuring firewalls, routers, and switches
- Ability to troubleshoot network connectivity issues
- Experience designing and reconfiguring network architectures
- Demonstrated ability to achieve high results
- Ability to interact with and effectively present information to employees, management and customers.
- Ability to coach and mentor employees
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with partners and government officials
- Travel to off-site locations
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's degree and six years position related work experience
- Experience with Checkpoint Firewalls
- Experience with Cisco Meeting Server
- Experience applying DISA's Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
- CCNA
- Experience working in a DoW military-civilian environment
- Experience conducting personnel performance evaluations
