Position Description :

Herdt Consulting is seeking a qualified Warehouse Shipping and Receiving (S&R) Clerk to join our team. The position requires a mature, energetic individual with strong organizational skills with previous experience in logistics, warehousing, or stocking involving accurately receiving goods, warehouse organization, and packaging and shipping materials. Experience is not as important as the desire to be accurate in every task. Performs work to receive, store, and handle Navy and Marine Corps modification kit parts. Identifies, sorts, and stows kit material based upon their Aircraft and platform destination. Transports parts/kits, inventorying parts/kits, and building of modification change kits for aircraft by driving a medium weight flatbed truck.

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Receive, stow, document and ship classified modification kits, preparing shipping documents and packaging kits/materials for shipment.
  • Ensures proper documentation of incoming deliveries by checking the condition of materials and quantities against DD-250s or bills of lading.
  • Processes receipt documents to ensure that the correct notations are in all the required fields, logs entries and stows kits in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Conduct blind inventory bin checks and bin re-checks to ensure correct quantities are listed in the database.
  • Perform routine warehouse daily cleaning.
  • Perform routine pre-operation Material Handling Equipment checks.
  • Perform data entry manipulation for Navy SAP based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) database.
  • Verifies parts against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages, routing parts to prescribed storage locations per established procedures.
  • Storing, stacking, or palletizing parts or materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods, rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials.
  • Perform receipt process for parts/stowage of material.
  • Utilize DIAS, JPAS, ISFD and other security related websites to verify individual clearances and facility clearance information.
  • Receive retrograde material and classify and identify.
  • Have proficient basic computer skills consisting of email, Microsoft Office software, electronic timesheets, NMCI (Navy and Marine Corps Internet) usage and basic database entry. Be familiar with the use of user name and passwords and the important of computer security.


Experience/Education Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Ability to successfully complete the Herdt Consulting Background Investigation to include: 50 State Criminal, Education and Employment; ability to successfully complete a Credit and/or Driving Records Checks may be conducted if required by the contract for continued employment.
  • High School Diploma and a minimum of two (2) years' warehouse experience required
  • Applicants must be organized, flexible, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a team environment, but also capable of completing individual tasks in a timely manner.
  • Ability to perform as a certified forklift operator to move large kits, palletized materials and various other warehouse operations. Applicant must be able to pass a NAVY element medical/ physical required for forklift operation. Which requires 20/30 correctable vision in both eyes (required). Applicant must be insurable to operate company leased truck.
  • US citizenship required.
  • Able to work in a fast paced, team work environment.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Be willing to work in non-climate controlled, dusty environment.
  • Performs routine warehouse daily cleaning.
  • Performs routine pre-operation equipment checks.
  • Forklift training, qualifications and licensing may be required.
  • US Navy Aviation logistics or military aviation logistics experience desired.
  • Experience with logistics support in a contracting environment desired.
