Position Summary:
Aegis Aerospace is seeking a highly skilled Senior DevSecOps Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) under the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and sustaining secure, scalable, cloud-native environments that integrate seamlessly with Government infrastructure. The selected candidate will architect and maintain Kubernetes-based platforms leveraging Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), AWS Elastic Container Service (ECS), and Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) in support of mission-critical missile defense systems.

This is a senior-level engineering role requiring deep expertise in cloud architecture, containerization, automation, security compliance, and cross-domain system integration within a DoD environment.

Key Responsibilities:
The candidate will:
  • Serve as a senior technical lead across cloud and containerized computing environments, focusing on engineering, architecture, development, and administration
  • Assess project technology infrastructure and evaluate migration strategies to cloud-native and containerized platforms
  • Oversee migration and sustainment of systems using Infrastructure as Code tools including Terraform, HELM, Ansible, and Bash
  • Provide container hardening expertise to meet DoD and MDA compliance standards
  • Develop and modify scalable architectures supporting applications and infrastructure across IaaS and PaaS platforms
  • Assist in the design and governance of enterprise cloud systems, applications, policies, and strategy
  • Integrate security management and privacy controls into cloud hardware, software, and applications
  • Evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions aligned to mission, cost, and risk considerations
  • Design and implement controls and processes leveraging available audit and compliance tools
  • Maintain current knowledge of evolving cloud products, technologies, and best practices
  • Integrate subsystem components into cohesive architectures that function reliably across environments
  • Design and implement cloud-based integration solutions that meet Government requirements
  • Plan, coordinate, schedule, test, improve, and maintain IT systems supporting mission objectives
  • Collaborate with software developers, network engineers, cybersecurity teams, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless system integration
  • Deploy and maintain cloud-based application databases including PostgreSQL, Cassandra, and MySQL
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for integration processes and systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration and infrastructure issues
  • Analyze existing systems to identify modernization and integration opportunities
  • Communicate with Government stakeholders regarding subsystem pricing, sourcing, and architectural recommendations
  • Report infrastructure capabilities and modernization initiatives to leadership
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and processes based on cost, risk, and mission impact

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Must have a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (such as Security+)
  • Must have 10 or more years of full-time general work experience; years may be reduced with completion of advanced education
  • Must have 8 or more years of experience in system integration with emphasis on DevSecOps practices or Kubernetes environments
  • Must have at least 1 year of experience in a management or leadership role
  • Must be proficient in cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or Red Hat OpenShift
  • Must have experience with Coder Platform
  • Must have strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Must demonstrate the ability to develop and apply exceptionally complex technical concepts and processes across multiple organizations and disciplines
  • Must possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to operate effectively under pressure
  • Must demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting the Missile Defense Agency or other Department of Defense organizations
  • Experience operating Kubernetes platforms in classified or high-security environments
  • Experience implementing DevSecOps practices within highly regulated or compliance-driven programs
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale cloud modernization initiatives


Compensation:
Salary Range: $150,000 - $170,000.00 annually. Final compensation is based on experience, education, location, and applicable certifications.
