Responsibilities

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Voice Switch and Recorder (VS&R) Program Office manages seven different programs that provide Air Traffic Control (ATC) Voice Communication Systems (VCSs) and legal recording systems that perform critical, high availability ATC communications and recordings within the FAA's National Airspace System (NAS). The VS&R Program Office is responsible for acquisition of modern Internet Protocol (IP) Voice Communications Systems, which includes development of requirements, procurement, verification, validation, testing, implementation, deployment and acceptance. The VS&R Program Office also manages full life cycle sustainment and logistics activities for existing operational ATC VCSs that are currently in use throughout the NAS.

The Deployment Engineer will support the FAA Voice Switch & Recorder (VS&R) Program Office in rapid modernization of its Air Traffic Control (ATC) Voice Communications Systems (VCSs), and will provide program implementation, site survey and field deployment coordination & support to VoICE programs, including the Air-to-Ground Protocol Converter (APC) and IP Voice Communications Systems (IP-VCSs) as follows:
  • Support the VoICE Program Office in planning, coordination and collaboration of implementation and deployment of new VoICE systems (APCs, VCSs) into the National Airspace System (NAS).
  • Participate in site surveys, review and assist in the development of site-specific implementation & deployment plans and related activities for VoICE systems
  • Plan, coordinate and track system implementation, deployment, installation, check out and acceptance of VoICE systems.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with VoICE schedulers with a focus on mitigating potential and realized schedule delays to maintain program implementation & deployment dates and milestones.
  • Perform Corporate Work Plan (CWP) entries and updates as needed
  • Review vendor implementation plans and implementation-related CDRLS
  • Collaborate on requirements related to implementation and deployment for upcoming VCS procurements


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, or similar technical discipline.
  • 5 years of relevant hands-on experience.
  • U.S. Citizen or Green Card permanent residency (3+ years U.S. residency)
  • Ability to obtain FAA clearance

• Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing requirements and environments, maintaining flexibility and resilience in dynamic project settings.

Desired Qualifications

While the experiences listed below are not required, possessing them would make a candidate stand out and bring added value to our team:

• Knowledge of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)

• Knowledge of the FAA National Airspace System (NAS)

• Experience working with FAA ATC Voice Communication Systems (VCSs)

• Implementation/Deployment: Experience in coordinating FAA ATC system deployment and performing onsite deployment support.

• Experience conducting and participating in technical interchange meetings

• Strong, clear verbal and written communication skills

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis' total compensation package.
