NexGen Data Systems is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and post-implementation operational sustainment of PEO Digital Network Exchange Points (NXPs). This role includes developing both unclassified and classified NXP architectures and working closely with a team of seasoned NXP engineers, site personnel, and NAVNETWARCOM representatives. The candidate will also coordinate with external stakeholders - including DISA, NMCI, NCDOC, and other mission partners - to facilitate the transition of Navy networks to NXP transport services.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Conduct research and technical evaluations of products, technologies, and configurations to support new and enhanced NXP services.
• Design, develop, and validate prototype solutions in both virtual and physical lab environments.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including network diagrams, Bills of Materials (BOMs), design documents, operations guides, STIG checklists (CKLs), test procedures, and after-action reports.
• Provide engineering support to NXP engineers and site personnel to implement network configuration changes required to transition Navy sites to NXP.
• Respond to and resolve Tier 3/4 support tickets involving high-priority and mission-critical incidents.

Desired/Required Skills:
• Active Department of Defense Secret level security clearance required.
• DoD Approved 8570 / 8140 OS and Cybersecurity certifications required.
• Minimum of 20 years of experience as a Network Engineer, with extensive hands-on expertise supporting Cisco, Arista, Juniper, and Palo Alto platforms.
• Active Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Enterprise certification required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Navy network architectures and a strong understanding of their integration with NXP transport and design frameworks.
• Recent, hands-on experience deploying and supporting Type 1 encryption devices in operational environments.
• Proven experience coordinating, provisioning, and implementing DISA circuits within DoD network environments.
• Travel as required.
