Background:  
The Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-4 (ODCS, G-4) serves as the Army’s principal staff element responsible for logistics, sustainment, supply chain integration, materiel readiness, transportation, and operational support to the Total Force.
The Records Management Specialist supports the G-4 enterprise by ensuring compliance with Army records management policies, maintaining proper lifecycle control of official records, and implementing standardized records governance processes in support of Army logistics and sustainment operations.

Duties and Responsibilities: 
• Administer and maintain the ODCS, G-4 Records Management Program in accordance with Army regulations and federal records management requirements.
• Manage the lifecycle of records including creation, maintenance, storage, retrieval, transfer, and disposition.
• Ensure proper classification, labeling, indexing, and filing of official records within approved systems (electronic and hard copy).
• Implement and maintain file plans aligned with Army Records Information Management System (ARIMS) or successor systems.
• Ensure G-4 compliance with Army records management policy, NARA requirements, and applicable DoD directives.
• Conduct periodic records reviews and internal compliance assessments.
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for records handling, retention, and disposition.
• Coordinate with G-4 directorates to ensure proper documentation retention practices are followed.
• Provide support during audits, inspections, or information requests related to official records.
• Support records management integration within Microsoft 365 and SharePoint environments.
• Assist in implementing structured metadata, retention tagging, and records categorization within electronic repositories.
• Coordinate with Knowledge Management and IT personnel to ensure records governance aligns with enterprise information architecture.
• Provide records management guidance and advisory support to G-4 personnel.
• Develop training materials and conduct briefings on records management responsibilities and compliance requirements.
• Assist staff with records transfer procedures, including permanent record submissions and authorized destruction.
• Prepare status reports on records management activities, compliance posture, and risk areas.
• Track and document records disposition actions.
• Maintain documentation supporting retention schedules and records accountability.
Qualification(s): 
• Bachelor’s degree in Records Management, Information Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 5-8 years of experience in Federal or DoD Records Management.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
• Must possess a CompTIA Security+ certification
• Demonstrated experience with ARIMS or DoD records systems
• Familiarity with NARA regulations and federal retention schedules
• Strong knowledge of Army records management policies
• Certified Records Manager (CRM) or equivalent certification preferred
• Experience in integrating records management within SharePoint or Microsoft 365 environments
