Background:
The Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-4 (ODCS, G-4) serves as the Army’s principal staff element responsible for logistics, sustainment, supply chain integration, materiel readiness, transportation, and operational support to the Total Force.
The IT Business Analyst supports the G-4 enterprise by analyzing business processes, identifying system requirements, improving operational workflows, and aligning IT capabilities with logistics and sustainment mission objectives. This role ensures that enterprise IT solutions effectively support Army G-4 strategic and operational priorities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Analyze G-4 logistics, sustainment, and operational business processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and modernization opportunities.
• Elicit, document, and validate functional and technical requirements through stakeholder engagement sessions, interviews, and workshops.
• Develop Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs), and process flow diagrams.
• Translate operational needs into actionable system requirements for IT development and configuration efforts.
• Support integration of enterprise IT systems supporting logistics reporting, readiness tracking, supply chain management, and operational coordination.
• Coordinate with system owners, DISA J6, developers, and stakeholders to ensure requirements are properly implemented and tested.
• Conduct impact analyses for system changes, upgrades, and migrations.
• Support user acceptance testing (UAT), validation, and system deployment activities.
• Analyze operational and performance data to support leadership decision-making.
• Develop reports, dashboards, and performance metrics in coordination with Knowledge Management and IT teams.
• Identify trends and recommend data-driven improvements to business operations.
• Support digital transformation initiatives within G-4 by identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and automate manual processes.
• Develop process maps, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and documentation supporting improved business practices.
• Assist in implementing change management strategies to ensure adoption of new systems and tools.
• Provide training materials and user guidance documentation as required.
• Ensure IT solutions align with Army IT policy, cybersecurity requirements, and enterprise governance frameworks.
• Participate in Configuration Control Board (CCB) reviews and governance forums as required.
• Support audit readiness and documentation efforts related to system and process compliance.
Qualification(s):
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum 5-10 years of experience in Business Analysis within DoD or Federal environments.
• Must possess a CompTIA Security+ certification
• Experience developing requirements documentation (BRDs, FRDs, use cases, workflow diagrams)
• Experience supporting enterprise IT systems and modernization efforts
• Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 environment and enterprise collaboration tools
• Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools
