Duties
- Serve as the Executive Support Specialist for AFOSI/CC by performing all support and planning functions to ensure tasks assigned can be accomplished within established deadlines, with accuracy, and in accordance with existing and/or newly established business rules and key processes and procedures; and ensure as much as possible that work necessary to the office's mission is completed in an efficient and effective manner.
- Function as the formal AFOSI/CC Records Custodian; has primary responsibility for file management and creating and/or formatting required office records and reports.
- Manage office budget, supplies and equipment and address facility issues as needed.
- Manages, coordinates, and integrates all actions required to provide oversight of directions from the Commander. Provides direct assistance to the commander's staff.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes (1) Works with management and organization principles and theories, including standardized administrative practice and procedures common to offices, with ability to maximize effectiveness and efficiency in creating and/or modifying office processes, structures, records or file systems, and role/responsibilities among office personnel; (2) Works with computer based information retrieval process, including general search, search within Government records and databases; and (3)Works with basic budget procedures and guidelines, and logistics related to office facilities, supplies, equipment, and travel and understanding of how those systems support the ability to provide support.

EDUCATION: Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or LL.M which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, if related.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of office administration and management. Skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to identifying, considering, and resolving office management or administrative issues or problems (particularly of a procedural nature).
2. Knowledge of federal government Department of Defense and Air Force organization, structure, and chain of command; general knowledge of federal and Air Force operating guidelines. Of particular benefit is knowledge of records management. Knowledge of knowledge management and information retrieval, particularly including computer database search and Internet search for both records and data relevant to job functions.
3. Knowledge of laws, regulations and policies governing military personnel, international, or national security law would be of added benefit. Knowledge of proper handling of classified and Special Access Program information.
4. Ability to operate various computer systems and standard business software, particularly Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point) and Adobe (PDF), and associated peripheral equipment. Must include the ability to create and utilize documents (Word), databases, spreadsheets and presentation graphics in support of transactions and presentations intended for a senior/high visibility audience. Ability to independently analyze information, determine action needed to address, and follow through either to obtain additional guidance or take action to complete tasks/projects.
5. Demonstrated organizational skills as to office procedures, file/records creation and maintenance, juggling multiple tasks and priorities and keeping track.
6. Skill in written and oral communication. Knowledge of interpersonal and public communication skills sufficient to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Experience/skill in interacting with senior level officials (political and/or institutional) and a calm and professional manner.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
