Position Overview
The Market Intelligence Specialist is responsible for conducting in-depth research and analysis to provide actionable insights on industry trends, competitive landscapes, and federal contracting opportunities. This role will support business development (BD), capture management, and proposal teams by delivering data-driven intelligence that informs strategic decision-making and enhances the companys competitive positioning.

Key Responsibilities
Market Research & Analysis
- Conduct in-depth research on federal procurement trends, government agencies, and industry competitors.
- Analyze federal budget allocations, regulatory changes, and contracting trends to identify strategic opportunities and risks.
- Gather, synthesize, and interpret data from multiple sources, including FPDS, GovWin, GSA eLibrary, and agency forecasts.
Competitive Intelligence
- Monitor and assess competitors' strategies, pricing, contract awards, and teaming partnerships.
- Provide intelligence on market positioning and competitive differentiators to enhance capture strategies.
- Identify potential merger and acquisition (M&A) targets based on market analysis.
Strategic Research & Forecasting
- Develop market intelligence reports that support long-term business strategy and revenue growth.
- Forecast spending patterns of federal agencies and predict upcoming contracting opportunities.
- Assess emerging trends in IDIQ, GWAC, and BPA contracting vehicles to align with business objectives.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with BD, capture, and proposal teams to integrate market intelligence into sales cycles.
- Provide briefings and presentations to senior executives on market trends, competitive landscapes, and strategic opportunities.
- Support the development of key decision-making tools such as PowerBI dashboards and market intelligence reports.
Data Collection & Management
- Manage and update market intelligence databases, dashboards, and other knowledge management systems.
- Develop and maintain tracking mechanisms for expiring contracts, recompetes, and new business opportunities.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of findings to internal stakeholders.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Business, Market Research, Economics, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in market intelligence, business analysis, or government contracting research.
- Experience with federal procurement platforms such as FPDS, GovWin, and SAM.gov.
- Strong knowledge of federal acquisition regulations (FAR), IDIQs, GWACs, and other contracting vehicles.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI for data visualization and reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize large datasets into meaningful insights.
- Experience with competitive intelligence tools and methodologies.
Soft Skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting findings to leadership and BD teams.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and adaptable to fast-changing industry trends.
