Description
Leidos' Defense Sector has a career opportunity for a Performance Excellence (PE) Operations and Training Lead. At Leidos Defense, we deliver innovative solutions across every domain, from sea floor to space by leveraging decades of expertise in areas like autonomous systems, hypersonic, and integrated air and missile defense. We empower the Department of War to achieve operational excellence and maintain a decisive advantage in an ever evolving threat landscape.
This role is central to the success of the PE organization. You set the business rhythms for Sector level program reviews and corrective action plan reviews for program recoveries and are a coordination point for Business Area support needs. You will monitor program performance trends across the Sector and identify areas for additional review and action. You should have a strong understanding of how Leidos business management systems and data are created and utilized as this ensures smooth operation of Sector business activities.
We are looking for someone who's technology savvy with strong data analytics skills, including PowerBI skills and is comfortable developing Excel formulas and macros, pivot tables and graphs to turn large volume of data into understandable presentation and actionable insights. You will also perform SharePoint and Teams administration for the Sector’s PE related files and information. You should have sufficient understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities and the technical background to lead a team in implementing AI solutions that allow the PE organization to increase its support to the Sector without a linear increase in labor. Lastly, you will get exposure to Sector and Corporate level objectives by supporting the Vice President of Performance Excellence in developing briefings for monthly operating reviews and other Sector and Corporate-level meetings.
Training of Leidos program managers ensures Leidos programs continue to operate at a high level. The PE Operations and Training lead works with the PE team, Vice President of Performance Excellence and senior leaders in the Corporation and the Sector to identify training needs and provide PM training. When needed, you will support development of PM training material to supplement Corporate provided training.
Occasionally, you will supplement the Program Startup and Program Recovery and Surveillance teams in performing bid risk reviews, program startup activities, program surveillance and program recovery activities. As such, you should have program management, CAM or chief engineer experiences to be successful when called upon.
